Connector set screw size? Take them to Home Depot, they have a measurement board on the screw and hardwire aisle, you can find the size there and pick up what you need.
Bryston Bda-3 and Audiophilleo If you are going from USB to the BNC, then it wouldn't hurt anything for sure, and you have to convert the formats anyway. However, if you are looking for a CD transport get one with a digital output and use a 75 Ohm rated cable, since the BDA-3 ...
Tried and true recommendations: headphones, amp, source I use a Wyred 4 Sound DAC with the Fempto clock option. It was a major step up from anything I have heard before, either in my system or at a dealer. It is not the least expensive way to go but it is a good one.
Tried and true recommendations: headphones, amp, source Stax electrostatic headphones with the Stax power supply and amplifier. I used them almost every day when the kids were small and went to bed early. I have an older set, which in today's dollars would be roughly equivalent to the SR-L700 MK2. ...
What DAC upgrade made you say “DAMN, that sounds SO MUCH better than my last DAC”? Wyred 4 Sound, their high end DAC with the Fempto clock option. Blew me away for sure.
Tubes AND SS? PS: I don't swap out gear from one system to the other.
Tubes AND SS? I used solid state for the home theater and the big stereo, with the big high quality gear, has tubes.Since the home theater runs every day for hours, since it plays music beside movies, I upgraded the speakers and power amps there.
do you think a cheap type 1 cassette tape sounds worse than a more expensive type 1? I suspect the frequency response of the cheaper tapes won't be as wide as the better tapes. How to properly make grounding in power strip Well, you could buy Hubbell hospital ground outlets and then use a copper wire to star ground everything. On the other hand, you have a decent master ground with the metal housings, since they are all tied together. The only ground noise you w...
Martin logan panel removal? I would call the company and ask for specific instructions. The last thing you want to do is mess up your ML's!
Downward firing subwoofer Probably not. The passive sub is designed to work within the cabinet volume and the subwoofer driver. Removing the passive will really muck things up. If you need more bass, get another sub, preferably the same as the one you currently have.
WANTED: Center grill for Paradigm Signature ADP3 speaker Paradigm is still around, why not order one from the manufacturer? Is it not available anymore?
What is this feature? Nope, no negatives, and I don't believe there is an official name for it. It is a nice feature, right next to a time delay when powering up a power amp and getting a huge thump in your subs.
Isolation - Isacoustics Puck Mini vs Herbie’s Fat Dots This is specialized enough that you would have to try it and find out for yourself. The question is not so much will it improve things but if the improvement, one way or the other, is worth the cost. I suggest you try it and experiment, eventu...
Integrityhifi TRU-GLIDER Pendulum Tonearm The VIv Lab Rigid Tonearms is a very interesting design. The concept of using a liquid for bearings goes way back in time. Light houses used mercury to float the huge and heavy light assemblies for almost no friction. Does anyone on this board... |
