Automatic return arms - still produced ? I am very sorry I made light of your situation. My sincerest apologizes.
Should I finish my basement Rello is correct to mention Lindisfarne's concern. That combined with Ejlif's concern can be easily resolved by painting the sheetrock pink.
RMAF 2014 Observations I didn't have a room this year so I was able to do lots of listening. The Chapman room was one of my favorites. Very relaxing while still being involving. Not expensive either, under 6K for nice floor standing transmission line speakers. The new W...
Should I finish my basement Sounds like you live in the south where you may not need insulated walls. Even so I would not want to spend much time in a basement with concrete walls. Throw some wood studs on the walls and insulate and sheet rock texture and paint. Live a little.
Automatic return arms - still produced ? Well as I said no one should worry about the " dreaded lead out groove." I mean how long would it take you to figure out the record had stopped playing. Just buy an nice table and arm.
Automatic return arms - still produced ? Look. Don't worry about wearing out your cartridge on the lead out grooves. Just get a good sounding tone arm.

Help finding a Mid-Sub Mr. Pigchild. There is a pair of the Torus Infrasonic Generators and a pair of the Torus amps/crossover for sale on audiogon. I wouldn't miss it.
Help finding a Mid-Sub Look into the Wilson-Benesch Torus. A large 18" diaphragm that operates in push pull much like an electrostatic speaker. The white pages are here: http://wilson-benesch.com/downloads/whitepapers/Wilson_Benesch_Torus_White_Paper.pdf
Law of Accelerating Returns I am not sure Zeno would approve of this but if one's system is 90% then a 5% improvement from that starting point would put it at 90.5Please check my math, it was never my strongest subject in school.
Most overrated audio manufacturers? I do hate to slam the big name manufactures. Please some one else do it and I need a laugh.
Audiogon suggestion box Perhaps this is God's way of telling you that you are going to hate the speakers once you get them into your system. I am " just saying". : )

Phonostage: Wavac vs Doshi vs Tron I haven't heard the newer Proteus from Transfiguration but I did have their Phoenix cartridge on a TriPlaner arm and Feikert Table and ran that through the Zesto Audio Andros Phono Stage. Can't recommend both the cartridge and the phono stage high...
How does one get off the merry-go-round? Well this may be to obvious but how about getting a system that is satisfying. |
