Deep Cleaning Records With Steam? Dan ed, Thanks for your response. You echo my summation that the biggest difference would be in the amount of muck left in the tank. This is why distilled water seems a reasonable stopping point for the steamer in this application. It appears that...
Deep Cleaning Records With Steam? I also got a perfection steamer for 19.99 yesterday in Des Moines but have yet to try it. I have a question for anyone willing to answer concerning water to use in the steamer. Why is it necessary to use anything more pure than distilled water in ...
cleaning fluid mix and match? Thanks for the reference to the thread on steam cleaning. I hadn't really taken it seriously before but after reading the thread sounds like something I should have tried a long time ago.
best fluid for vpi 16.5 cleaner non-vpi brand? Dougdeacon, Have you said where to get a demagnetizer like the one you use? If you did I'm not seeing it.
Rim Drive Mod or how to make it even better tfkaudio, The noise and oscillating 33's are exactly what my rim drive did for the first week or so. The numbers on my KAB strobe now stay about as stable as with the belts. The cyclical clicking is gone but I wouldn't say the assembly is complete...
best fluid for vpi 16.5 cleaner non-vpi brand? My current bottle of Disc Doctor is almost gone which would make it easy to try something new. Would my Mofi and Disc Doctor brushes work well with the Walker system to save some expense or do you really need the Walker brushes too?
best fluid for vpi 16.5 cleaner non-vpi brand? Well, I may have to give an enzyme based solution a try. I'd trust the opinions of end users here sooner than any vender or reviewer. Are Walker and AI roughly equivalent?
Benz LP Ebony, and S-Class Ebony Try the Audio Additives digital gauge. It's $99 and I like it a lot. I've seen the same thing under a different name for about twice as much. Obviously made by the same people. I used a Shure for a while before I got it and was very close to what ...
Cartridge downgrade? Update, I found a good deal on a Benz Ebony LP here on audiogon that hasn't been used or opened per seller's report. I'm sure I'll enjoy this cartridge and, again, thanks for your input.
Rim Drive Mod or how to make it even better I agree. Contact VPI if the problem seems unresolvable. They'll be happy to help with a fix even, I'm sure, if it means sending you a whole new unit. I've been playing mine today with no such issues I assure you.
Benz LP Ebony, and S-Class Ebony Stringreen,I hope you take no offense at my joke about wanting to be you. I simply know that you're using some similar equipment to mine in some areas and that what you like I probably will too. As you may have seen above I will be getting an LP s...
Benz LP Ebony, and S-Class Ebony Well, based on the positive comments on this thread as well as my own cartridge thread, I have taken advantage of a good price on an unused in the box Benz Micro LP. Just another step in my ongoing quest to become Stringreen(just kidding...really)...
best fluid for vpi 16.5 cleaner non-vpi brand? I'm actually using Disc Doctor with double rince which also works quite well. I may have to try the Walker or AI but the reports of success with a variety of fluids makes me wonder if the most important part of the process is actually the gentle b...
Cartridge downgrade? Thanks to everyone for your input. This thread has opened my eyes to the Benz line of cartridges which I will have to give some consideration.
Rim Drive Mod or how to make it even better I already had the mini feet when I did the rim drive. They probably make raising and leveling the table easier. It's an additional investment I know but you may want to try them. |
