SIlver Cable Experiences? I have used silver cables from Nordost, Silver Audio, Harmonic Tech, Pure Note, Siltech, and more. In most cases silver cables are fast, precise, and smooth. Some brands are better than others like Siltech and Pure Note. No matter the claims, it i...
Power Cord for Classe CA-401 Pure Note Sigma PC @ $350. I like this cord because it is not bulky (fits into tight places and will not 'lift' your equipment). Sonically sweet.
Looking for additional cable ideas... I used to go the biwire route but I am convinced that single wire cables are better with jumpers. I have gotten the best results with Silversmith and Pure Note brand cables.
Any experiences with Eichmann Express Bullet Plugs I have them on some (brand-x) cables. Quite frankly they are cheesy IMO. Do not like having to use a hair dryer to make them fit. Do not care for the plastic (don't try using a heat gun). Sonically I have many cables that sound better with a varie...
Any problems using biwire cbls on single post Spkr It will work. Try each cable section to see if it is sonically better. I personally prefer a single wire cable with jumpers on bi-wire speakers.
cable help? I own ML requests and Krell gear and use Pure Note Epsilon Reference cables. These cables are very good for revealing the complexities of orchestral recordings. www.purenote.comGood luck in your search.

shielded cables & IC's or not? I have an ES/SS system similar to yours. Shielded cables, IMO. You do not want any RFI mixed in with the signal. It will result in a glassy sound if you use unshielded cables.
Information on Empirical Audio IC cables Tekunda: I do not think it is fair to slam your competitors. AudioEngr (owner of Empirical Audio) is highly respected in the forums. And we all know you are the distributor of HMS cables.
Which worse- long I/C of speaker run Depends on brand/design of cable. My experience; better to run long interconnects.
Longer speaker cables or phono cables? You have the current to drive longer speaker cables. Long phono cables will add more capacitance and noise.
speaker cables with a warm sound Cardas Golden Cross will warm you up. Not the best stage or detail but forgiving.
Why Expensive power Cables when Romex behind Wall? This is an excellent question but that 6 foot high-end power cord can make an audible improvement. This similar to using high-end speaker cables. Most internal speaker wiring is tin-plated copper yet one can hear an improvement. There are many cla...
Speaker cables for Egglestonworks Fontaine? I used to own Transparent, MIT, and Cardas Golden Cross cables. Compared to the Pure Note they are dark and phasey. The Pure Note Epsilon Ref's have far more speed and detail and the sound stage is sharply focused (especially the speaker cables) i...
Need recommendations on cables? I have the same experience as Lak. One of the best online cable outfits is Pure Note. They are perfect for your situation since you can buy secure online and save many dollars because there is no dealer markup. |
