Re: streaming recommendations for newbie
My router is on a separate floor from the system and I currently run eero mesh to strengthen the signal to the other floor (basement). So is using an Ethernet cable still possible? Absolutely.  You just need another Mesh node near your streamer...
Mark Levinson Has Saved Me And My MUSIC!!
I’m pretty much a purist at heart and don’t use tone controls or DSP although I may well try the latter at some point as I’ve heard great results in other systems.  In this case if there’s something that can make me wanna listen to a lot of my fav...
A good cd transport for my Chord HugoTT2 DAC with Chord M-Scaler
I have tried streaming Tidal from my MacBook or iPhone into my Chord DAC, but it is not as good as cds. The missing link is something like a Zen streamer Yeah, I totally get what you’re saying.  I started streaming with my iPhone and upgraded U...
I see the issue with ABX blind testing
Seems like any non audiophile that hears my system expects to be blown back into their chair by the bass. That‘s what seems to matter. They are generally disappointed. @tonywinga Yeah, these are the same people who have the contrast and sharpne...
Emphasis on stereo but need a complete solution.
I'm surprised the Hegel doesn't have a sub low level output.  Not sure I need it with the Totems but seems odd. A LFE or sub output is a feature you’d find more on a home theater oriented product.  You should be able to use the Hegel’s variable...
A good cd transport for my Chord HugoTT2 DAC with Chord M-Scaler
If you get a Zen Stream I highly recommend not using Wi-Fi (at the very least use a Wi-Fi extender or Mesh and run an Ethernet cable from that to the Zen) and getting an upgraded power supply.
Records not stored vertically for decades
Just finished listening to Analogue Productions Gaucho - 45 rpm - re-mastered by Bernie. Another home run if you are a SD fan. @dmk_calgary Funny you mention Steely Dan — my favorite band.  One of the things I was hoping is that my old vinyl so...
Re: streaming recommendations for newbie
@aheydorn Personally if I’m you I’d look to download the FLAC files from the computer to an external drive and connect that to the streamer (the Node can do this BTW) so you can have all your music along with your streamed music combined in the sa...
Dickie Betts died earlier today at 80 years of age
Sad.  Wikipedia states the cause of death was cancer and COPD.
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama
Whatever Eric does or does not do will not affect people who don’t have or don’t want his product. @2psyop Well sure it does. I don’t have or want his products, but I’ll now never recommend his speakers to anyone whereas before I had for people...

@lewm Raul’s Pontus are not valid or useful for my situation.  Did you not read my post?  I mentioned both the storage conditions and that I currently can’t play the albums, so I was simply asking what damage may have been done by storing the reco...
Re: streaming recommendations for newbie
I’m going to try to eliminate the Onkyo & see if my phone & the Oppo shake hands. @danmar123 Great that you’re getting the AVR outta your 2-channel signal path as that’s a huge bottleneck to performance. I started streaming from my iPho...
New R2R DAC
@lancelock Congrats!  Very much look forward to your thoughts.  What DAC are you using now?
USB output on latest Bluesound Node
This is ridiculous.  This is like the third generation of this product with a USB out and they have bugs in it?  That’s an embarrassment.
Records not stored vertically for decades
Ok. I was mainly concerned the pressure from the weight would affect the grooves and the sound but not sounding like that’s much of a problem.
