KAV 250a input / outputs
Ok, I'll guess. These components are of truly balanced design and the makers want you to use them that way only with no excption that would compromise sound.Dave
Would Audiogoners be interested in this?
Ben IMHO, you know music. anytime you post on music I listen. Your general interest and knowledge of music is surpassed by no other member of this forum. This could be a good idea by the right guy at the right time with a little luck and.....this ...
Hardest component to decide on
Digital source are tuff for me, differences are so small and yet so large. I am in that soon to upgrade digital source mode at this time. Could be a long process, for me anyway.Dave
Would Audiogoners be interested in this?
BenOn the surface, this is a good idea, under the surface it could be a fantastic idea if enough input and output of info. could be offered to stretch the past what is now out there at many other sites. It would seem that someone would need to take...
The best speaker you ever heard?
divaI've saw Eric's system at the audiocircleforum, If I recall...The Diva-Muse system was a system he owned before he switched to Vmps RM-40's which he has sold off to upgrade to the Vmps RM/X system he now owns.He has? some pictures posted at th...
2 channel movie lstening;is it worth the sacrafice
While I don't agree at all with most of the posts to your question in a general sense, I do agree with them in your case. I would..if I were you and with the components you now own, upgrade to the highest level of two-channel (with flexability and...
Seperates or Receiver on a Budget
Agree with everyone above, seperates at your price range. Receivers fall more into the "anything is better than nothing" school of thought. Flexability is key to long range satisfaction and is more cost effective over the long run.Dave
What's your profession? Age?
53 years old, retired from General Motors two years ago. I was one of the people that put those first few miles on your new vehicle, (Driver/vehicle-shipping)&(Driver-end of line). System: Not sure about price, I've had most of it a good while...

One or two subwoofers?
DazzdaxOne sub will be fine for you. Here is a link to some subwoofer info. http://www.soundstage.com/maxdb/maxdb021999.htmDave
Aspect Ratio Control/DVD Player?
Well it would seem that this would not be a problem for you. Most dvd's are widescreen and so is your TV. I'm not a video expert though so take what I say for what it is. If you rent or buy a dvd in the 4:3 aspect your tv will just chop the sides ...
One or two subwoofers?
I'm running three subs, one from my pre-pro's LFE out and two from an extra set of pre-outs. I use an outboard crossover for the stereo pair set at 35hz and run my mains full range. The third sub only comes into play for movies. Dave
One or two subwoofers?
Agree with Rkeman, Crossover frequency should be determined and set at a point above which your main speakers bass no longer has flat frequency response. Small speakers require higher crossover point, this can cause image shift with only one sub u...
Bi-amp a two-way speaker makes sense?
AndyAudio Refinement makes (or at least made?) a two channel amp @ 125 watts per. What do you use the extra channels for at this time? Do you have HT or multichannel music? If you do..then I would just pick-up the two channel version of your amp a...
Get rid of the Dunlavys?
I understand Unsound, but did you notice how I tried to cover my butt in the first post with: " Take a couple of cd's of your choice and go have a listen"..and "IMO". I did forget the humble part of the opinion.Dave
