How to tame the midrange???
"midrange sounds harsh, grainy, and exceptionally digital. Female vocals in particular. It actually sounds like clipping, but I can hear it at any volume level. However, the problem is more noticable as volume is increased"I have a Sunfire Theater...
The new guy has a question....
I would use the digital out on the Denon for movies and let the Sunfire decode those. For music...most multichannel players I've used (not all...read your manual) sound best if you use their multichannel outputs for everything else. The Sunfire has...

Best preamp is no preamp: always true?
Depends on your system...and wallet. A well designed passive volume control does very little to degrade the signal...I,ve owned the Bent Audio passive around two years ago. Great product that simply smoked all before it in my system! That said, a s...

Krell Amps. Ksa 250,200,Mda300
I have a Ksa-250...it is laid back and it does kick butt. It's a better sounding amp than the 200...plus, more power. In the solid state camp, it's a keeper.I also have Rogue 120 magnums...great amps! Both are here to drive my Apogee Duetta Signat...
how far off the wall
Far enough out to reduce the chances of non-modal peaks and nulls being introduced...modal peaks and nulls are another story and problem...although the two tie together overall.Non-modal peaks and nulls are caused by a freq's wavelength and in rel...

The H20 won't work well with a passive preamp. Why don't you buy the "Fire preamp" from Henry the designer of the H20 amps?Dave
Bridging amps : How
Krell Kav...I don't remember exactly what you needed to do because I never did it when I had my Kav-500. I do remember from reading the manual that it was a simple to do.I'll guess that all the Kav units can be bridged...don't know that for sure t...
"Air, Extension, Resolution" Music or Hi Fi?
To be honest, I don't think Maggies (maybe some do?) integrate as well as they should. When comparing my Apogee Duetta Signatures to a pair of Maggie 3.6's a couple years ago I first came to this conclusion.First thoughts were that the Maggies had...
