magnepan mmgs-buy zero autoformers or stands 1st?
The stands, (at least good ones) do more than raise the Maggies... They firmly lock them in place, ie...no sway allowed. This results in a more "clear" sound, as the soundwave launching is now from a firmly "locked in place" source. Some other thou...
Video switching not working on EAD 8800.
Probably can't deal with hi-def?...try standard and see if that is the problem. (I'm no video expert)Dave

Jeffreybowman2kOk, I'll report....I have bought and sold "WYBP" (or terms along that line anyway). It reads to me that others (above) have done the same?...all deals went fine and without a hitch. That said, thats not my standard mode of buying, ie...
Got the itch again "real bad" for tube mono blocks
I'm running Apogee Duetta Signatures with Rogue M-120 monos...they do a nice job but I think I'm going to move to a pair of used Wolcott monos sometime in the next year...I'm in the research phase now.Rogue M-120 Magnums usually go for around $1,5...

I heard no veil...I compared it to my Audioprism Mantissa tubed preamp which replaced a Bent Audio transformer volume control in my system a couple years ago...both first rate in my opinion.Amps were tubed monos (Rogue M-120 Magnums) and speakers ...
How Much Push/Pull Tube Power for Maggies
EldartfordI guess I can understand that, I know that some music can have 25db peaks...trying to play back this music at loud average levels can no doubt cause problems when these peaks come along. If your average listening level is much over 75db ...

I do my OBO listings above what I'll take...I don't mind the "bottom dollar" question as long as it gets me my bottom dollar. If I have an amp listed at $1,700 OBO and $1,500 is my "what will you take" price...I shoot back an email stating $1,500....

Most active subwoofer amps don't last long...that why the warranty is usually very short. I agree with Undertow, subs are very simple to work on...IMO, get another amp from parts express if that one can't be fixed...$300-$400.Dave

CoochThe first part was intended for you...stands and setup. The second part was intended as an "I don't agree" with Warrenh. My point on the loud thing was that simply adding more and more power to the MMG's (or dipole panels speakers in general) ...
"What's Your Best Price?"
I don't think they are "moronic" to ask what your bottom dollar price is...you must have given it some thought when you listed your item...correct? The "OBO" listing is optional to you...it gives the buyer the impression that "you will take less",...

Yes, stands of your choice will help a lot. Also, check out the CARDAS planer setup guide at the CARDAS Audio web site...it works well in most rooms, (not all).WarrenhPlayback levels which exceed those that a speaker was designed for cause "early"...
Best of the AMperex 6DJ8/6922 Tubes
Amperex 7308's are the best sounding 6dj8 replacement that I own...kind of $$$ for 4 of them though.Dave
panel speaker purchase
What price range?...some of those you have on your list (Analysis, Apogee, Soundlab) are well over $10,000 new. Used Apogees can be rebuilt as new...$1,500 for a used pair...around $3,500 for the rebuild ($5,000 total).Dave

TvadHe did say they were "kinda tube like" in a round about way, ie...tube lovers will like them...people who say that usually have not had much tube experience. light and nimble, lush and romantic, have many flavors...depending on a few things. Y...
Muralmans' amps reviewed Ultra Audio.
It seems the reviewer likes amps which are light and nimble rather than lush and romantic...probably why he does not like tubes. I've never heard the H2O's so don't know what they sound like. I was extreamly impressed with the preamp from this com...
