Which speaker has the biggest sound stage? Well, My Apogee speakers are on a 25' wide wall.....and they fill in between (the image), and the outside area with sound that is as wide as the room.Funny......if you walk up to one of the speakers while it is playing, you really can't localize t...
System versus live Not even close....but then, I wouldn't want "live" in my living room even if I could have it.Most audiophiles like little baby images anyway...yes?.......little drum sets and all that.Dave
Counterpoint DA-11 - Genesis Dig. Lens - DA-10 Dac The standard DAC was around $1,800 (it sounded pretty good), and the upgraded DAC with the Ultra Analog DAC card "option" was another $1,500 or so (it sounded even better).Other upgrades followed in the years after Counterpoint went under.....I kn...
How can anyone afford this ? You don't need much of a stereo to have a better sounding stereo than 95% of the people you know, or will ever meet in your life time.If it wasn't for the internet, you would be surprised by the number of audiophiles you would run across in your l...
Will Cello Duet 350 drive Apogee Diva? Rademaker, I know speakers sound different with different amps......but I wasn't aware that Cello was low class? This is the first I have heard of it. At any rate, if he already owns the Cello he can just have a listen? If it were me, I'd drive them...
Will Cello Duet 350 drive Apogee Diva? Scintilla and Fullrange are amp eaters..........the Diva not so much.Dave
Will Cello Duet 350 drive Apogee Diva? Yes, it should drive them with ease @ 600 watts per channel. Good luck finding a nice pair of Diva, it won't be easy. You need a big room to get the most out of the Diva, so I would pass if you don't have one.Dave
So what is the best speaker you have ever owned? My Apogee Duetta Signatures.....and all tubed components are a match made in heaven to my ear.Even though I have listened to speakers that I thought were as nice sounding as mine, I didn't think they were better sounding, just different sounding.....
Tube Monoblocks for heavy music on Khorns My Rogue Audio monoblocks drive my Klipsch with outstanding results. (Klipsch Kg4, Klipsch Forte).I expect they would do the same with yours.Dave
Tubed preamp with Krell KSA 150 amp? I have used a tube preamp (Audioprism Mantissa) with the Krell Ksa-250 a few years back......outstanding sound.(DC leak?).....depends on the preamp? Older BAT preamps are known to give the old Krells problems (DC).......do a search.Dave
Big Blue Tenor Sax Houston Person has over 75 albums with many slower tempo songs...check him out for sure. (Big dreamy sax sound, and most recorded good-very good)Dave
Best external hard drive to store PC ripped music I use "dbpoweramp ripper"....pretty simple. You just tell it where to save the files (in a music folder on your harddrive).........it also gets the album cover for you, and puts it in with the music files. What could be more easy than that?Dave
Loudspeakers - how best to prolong their lifetime? For the last couple of years, my Apogee Duetta Signature (1993 build) are used with a pair of subwoofers (even though they do 28hz....and sound great doing it!)I would rather not put them into the "dreaded" Apogee bass buzz mode any sooner than I ...
HT Preamps with GOOD 2 channel sound? Get something with good room correction system built in.....Integra comes to mind in your price range. I sold my long time two channel tube preamp (Audioprism Mantissa) after buying a new receiver with room correction (I'm only using it as a prepr...
Supratek or Rogue? Get something that matches the Rogues sonic signature, and matches the looks. The Supratek does neither of these.Dave |
