Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
Can't say which sounds better, depends on the recording I guess. I don't have a whole lot of multichannel recordings yet, but of the ones I do have, some are much better in multichannel and some are much better as two channel in my system. I think...
Bi-amping versus Bridging for NAD S200's
In my humble opinion.
How important is powercord synergy?
Dedicated lines will make bigger difference than any power cord upgrade. Improper power cord can damage your amp, this is why you will always get a cord that can pass enough current for your amp to last. Don't use cheap power strip, this could dam...
Integrated amp plus receiver?
Bomarc, HT bypass on integrated TIC refers to will bi-pass it's volume control and pass through signal. With Mike's solution you are setting integrated's volume control to unity gain so as to remove it's effect on signal pass through. Both work fine.
Integrated amp plus receiver?
You can do it as Myc49 has done his You will need to reset levels with the integrated's volume control at 12 O'clock, when you watch a movie return integrated's volume control to 12 O'clock each time as this is the point you will have calibrated f...
Bi-amping versus Bridging for NAD S200's
Most amps sound worse when bridged IMHO, I would go with vertical bi-amp but you could try both ways even with some cheap wires as a test before you buy the better wire, It should still give you a fare idea as to which sounds better even with that...
SPeakers 90% of your sound
Unsound, what I ment is your grasp of the fundamental building blocks along with also understanding system-synergy,room-speaker synergy as your posts state, must always result in good sound no matter the cost.
Sony SCD-1 can't read Multichannels Hybrid SACDs
Metralla, thanks for the info., I made a copy. I have the xa777.
SPeakers 90% of your sound
Unsound, I would guess that every system you put together sounds very good at any price level, well said.
SPeakers 90% of your sound
I would have to agree with Rives on the most part, I wish I had a dollar for every time I listened to an audiophile say how bad this or that sounded at a dealer or at one of the big shows, like these guys don't have a good source/amp/speakers/wire...

Unplug it and then plug it back in, maybe it needs to reset it's self.
Examples of exceptional soundstaging
MFSL has three Patricia Barber sacd's that bring her and the band to life, right in your room. Also Lateef's (Encounters) redbook cd. All are Jazz that take a little getting used to and are super at night with the lights turned down low.
subwoofer amplification
If it has speaker level inputs, you would just run speaker cables from the new amp.
Tough Speaker choice, Please look and comment
As a vmps owner I'll give you some better vmps advice, forget the RM-40's and get the super tower/r. This speaker is much cheaper to buy than the RM-40 and has deeper bass output. The RM-40 is more audiophile in sound with very good bass and is th...
floorstanders or bookshelf for HT fronts? HELP
With your two channel system now out of the picture, get another pair of 20's for the fronts. If you feel that you do want to go with large front speakers then you should get the Outlaw audio ICBM bass management unit ($300 new). This unit will le...
