Paypal...buyer protection fees didnt help me The bench break down would have only been helpful to @missioncoonery if manufacturer had determined issue existed prior to shipping. I doubt an undetermined cause would have changed things one iota. @missioncoonery It seems no all is lost in ...
Cheapest way to enhance SQ with digital streaming Yep, its usually the case several incremental upgrades result in an overall large upgrade. I nearly always do A>B>A comparisons to confirm I'm hearing what I think I'm hearing, especially with streaming. I've done a fair amount of experiment...
Nucleus, is there a better alternative? Certainly the Nucleus can be beaten, many custom builds will have faster processors, superior RAM than off the shelf items. NUC's can be pretty off the shelf or more diy. Actually, my preferred choice for bang for buck is diy custom build. In very...
Owning Up To It I've been to literally, thousands of concerts over my life, including some of the bands mentioned on this thread, can't recall a single incident of a really bad concert. Some didn't live up to my expectations, but not what I'd call bad. Since ...
Turn an Intel macmini into a music server Well, it all depends on whether OP looking for something approaching audiophile quality or only for convenience. Just do the mini or Rpi he already has, do minimal cost free upgrades and compare the two. The Rpi would be superior if willing to...
Using battery power to go off the City's power grid Think I'm going to experiment with @ricevs setup with Giandel inverter, easy and cheap for initial experiment.
Nucleus, is there a better alternative? K41 would give you option of server straight into Lumin, no switch needed as Antipodes has two network ports. If you need switch no advantage here, I'd stick with Nucleus, add the lps, very nice server.
Using battery power to go off the City's power grid I didn't purchase the Rockpals for audio system, just thought I might give it a try since in house. I'll have to take closer look at Bluetti, Stromtank is certainly pricey.
Using battery power to go off the City's power grid Mine is rockpals 300W, around $500. Certainly mine is lower wattage, less expensive, but are you paying for better parts quality, inverter with higher watt versions of same basic design. I presume these all built in China, same factory or factorie...
Turn an Intel macmini into a music server External lps and internal dc power supplies, in my case Uptone MMK and JS-2. Jitter is only part of the problem with using the usb out, noise on motherboard, especially with stock power supply and no OS optimization. This is why I'd bet on RP ...
Using battery power to go off the City's power grid Mine is newer unit, lithium ion, mid price range of these.
Paypal...buyer protection fees didnt help me @missioncoonery Not saying you're not being truthful, just saying there may be high likelihood damage was incurred in shipping, in which case seller is not at fault. I'm surprised this possible issue hasn't been brought up in your statements thus ...
Nucleus, is there a better alternative? Lps on nucleus, FMC with lps, better ethernet cable could all be worthwhile. Since you're only using Nucleus as server, no rendering, not as critical to streaming as it would be otherwise. Antipodes K41 would be my choice for upgraded server only.
Using battery power to go off the City's power grid I've tried battery power on previous dac and various streaming component lps. Limitations include inverter and just general parts quality of these devices. Versus my BPT 3.5 Sig isolated transformer pc, battery power had darker more veiled sound ...
Turn an Intel macmini into a music server I've now used three iterations of mini as servers. You mention having no budget which leaves lps out of the question, this will be greatest limitation of using a mini. I could provide much info, but you may really be better off with raspberry.... |
