different people may hear the same sound differently...
@teo_audio If only this level of enlightenment had reached a critical mass!

My own experience with long term pursuit of ever increasing levels of transparency/resolution is that vast majority of recording sound more real, like flesh and blood performers. Fundamental issue that needs to be addressed is timbre, tonality, ge...

@dbb  I don't believe those two attributes need be contradictory. A pre can be both more transparent and engaging and musical together. A more transparent pre mated with engaging and musical system would provide more insight into those attributes ...
Dedicated NUC/Nucleaus vs shared PC (w Fiber Media Converter connected to Endpoint)
Nope, that pc is noisy environment, you've lost both resolution and lost a great deal of timing/jitter with that solution, the FMC can't repair what was damaged in pc. Every component in chain critical to optimize streaming.   I differ from lati...
different people may hear the same sound differently...
I sang in any number of choirs back in the day. Very experienced choir master who had been testing choir members for pitch and vocal range mentioned I had perhaps the most perfect pitch she had ever observed. To this day, bothers me to no end when...
Dedicated NUC/Nucleaus vs shared PC (w Fiber Media Converter connected to Endpoint)
Each component within streaming system has to be considered as entrance way for noise, jitter. This can be either self generated or passed from previous component in chain. Now you can isolate this noise via FMC from entering next component in cha...
Careful if buying Purist Audio Neptune fluid cables.
I ran Dominus fluid and Ferox in past, never had leak issues with fluid.
Why does rock concert sound suck?
What's there to fix. Go to concert, look around, masses loving it, you, the audiophile cringing, too bad for you. Live rock concerts and audiophiles hardly ever mix well.
ML 30 or 37 Transports

Above posts are good for voicing one's system. I also use my own voice in order to ascertain natural timbre, tonality of my system. I love to sing, sang in many choirs back in the day, so often sing within my dedicated listening room. Really belt ...
ML 30 or 37 Transports
#37 best transport ever owned, when it died never found adequate replacement, gave up on cd's and went to streaming at that point.   The Phillips Pro transport in these fantastic, attention to vibration through careful mounting of unit,  and nic...
COINCIDENT FRANKENSTEIN 300B STEREO
Shazam! Wow, Israel changing the lineup yet again, just learned about the MkIII vesion of Statement pre. Thanks for the update Charles.
Personality Type?
What about neural plasticity, I've resembled many personality types and lived any number of lives within this life. I've lived fast and I've lived slow, moved in so many tangents.
Bragging rights.....
Separates at the high end are like a finely tuned exotic car, everything has to be in harmony for full effect. I'll stay with the complexity until my faculties escape me and I'm unable to recall all the steps required to fire up the damn thing!
COINCIDENT FRANKENSTEIN 300B STEREO
WTF with $2500 retail price?   Don't doubt they are top notch, I have Statement MKII pre, I'd have the Frankensteins if not for rather serendipitous find of very special bespoke 300B monoblocks, once in a lifetime find.   And I mentioned this ...
