The death of ultra hiend audio
I'm always curious about who purchases audio at this price level. I presume a certain percentage are 'true' audiophiles, therefore, longer term journey with incremental system upgrades. I also presume many not really audiophiles, audio systems jus...
Who is Liable with Defective Unit
If unit was described as fully functional or no issues responsibility falls on seller, doesn't matter that it may have been fully functional when shipped. The responsibility for faulty equipment always falls of seller unless they can prove shipper...
The Accidental Tweak
I had exactly the opposite experience many years ago when running Perpetual Technologies dac setup. The Pt was a two box affair with very close fitting enclosure, I was doing incremental mods at the time so removing chassis from enclosure required...
Upgraded from Klipsch to Volti - Was it worth it?
I don't care for the dsp, agree not natural to the rest of my system, I voice with my amps, preamps, dac's, don't want or need all the complexity. When I mentioned Klipsch looking at competition was thinking specifically about going to tractrix ho...
"I Trust My Ears"
I always retain equipment so I can do A>B>A compare, and I may have to repeat this numerous times. These days seem to be retaining amps since I can't find fault with any of them, I rotate for the varied presentations. Sometimes its not the o...
The death of ultra hiend audio
This can be a chosen business model, firms can sell to a larger market at relatively lower price vs a much more exclusive market at high prices. Capitalization costs are generally going to be lower for the firm serving the exclusive market which m...
Upgraded from Klipsch to Volti - Was it worth it?
Based my extensive Khorn mods on Crites and Volti knowledge and components. I suspect Klipsch learning some things from Volti, Crites and others these days, latest iterations of the Heritage line are improvements over prior iterations.
I'm a little perplexed/surprised by TMR and who sells to them.....
Recently sold car, choice of selling via consignment, sell to dealer or private sale. I chose private sale, got $4300 more than dealer/Carvana  offered. One has to measure hassle of private sale vs ease going with dealer/buying service, in my case...
Would You Rather Own A Good SET Amp, Or A Great Push Pull Amp?
I don't know how anyone can answer this conclusively, or for you, every situation entirely unique, variables go on and on. To start with how do you define great vs good, why a great push pull vs only a good SET, why not great to great? If your cri...
"I Trust My Ears"
Per 'training' and preference. One can choose to be self taught or base their choices on various external forces/influences. The self taught will listen to many systems and develop their preferences through experiential learning process.    One ...
What do you care about in this hobby?
No. 1 is sound quality, amazing how this never ceases to be at top. So many ways to alter the presentation within a pretty much static setup.
DDC Comparisons
@tonycorvette1 DDC doesn't fit your situation, and you already have fine clocking.
Pass-through Roon Endpoints
Not all Roon Endpoints created equal. For best performance with Roon both core and endpoint streamers need to be optimized.
"I Trust My Ears"
So you can choose to trust your senses and interpretation of those senses by your brain, or not. And so we all make mistakes, obviously our senses and brains not always right. Point is why is this such a big deal for enjoyment of our audio systems...
Why don’t more members post their systems in their profile?
It could also be informative to list past or no longer used components, systems.
