Shunyata Hydra
I have everything plugged into the Hydra 8. The difference from other is that it seems to relax any glare and produces better dynamics. I have had the Ps audio and Tice and sold them upon hearing the 8. It makes an unbelievable upgrade
Subwoof Piega P10s for bass Quality, not Quantity?
Sean is right try the nordost or hms as they have a quicker and leaner sound. Ironically I have found the p-10 and c-10ltd to have the bass on the lean side and have had to position them to get the most out of it. Great speakers none the less
Jena Labs - Any experience?
Agree with above on the Piega's. The Jena's seemed a great match with the ribbon. More dynamic, detailed and transparent. I am using the symphony's.
Power regulation/conditioning-PS Audio or Monster?
I am using the Hydra 8 plugged in the Monster AVS 2000. Really helped make the music more enjoyable and smoother. The AVS 2000 keeps the voltage at 120 and stops major fluctuations. A definite must in my area. I had the ps 300 about 2 years ago an...

Does unequal speaker wire length matter?
I have seen it done with transparent cable with Wilson speakers. There was no change in sound with this particular system.
Best Power Conditioner
The Hydra 8 provided the best sound in my system. Audio Tekne is also very good if you can find one. I plug the Hydra in the Monster AVS 2000 which keeps voltage at a steady 120. A must if you have tubes. The result is greater dynamics. I have had...
HMS cables - English Instructions?
You can email Strassner at HMS. He is usually prompt with a response. I liked the 0 setting. Check the archives for further info
Audio aero Capitole MkII
I plugged it directly into Manley 250's and there is great musicality. That said I prefer it more times using the Manley preamp. Better dynamics and slam
Tenor Hybrid v. VTL MB-450 Sig.
In one of tenor's ads. they offer in home auditioning. Have you contacted tenor?
A serious blow to Canadian audiophiles, must read
I must have missed something. Where would the serious blow to Canadian audiophiles originate?
Tube Amps and young children - avoiding burns etc.
I would also consider the Manley Neoclassic 250's in your choices. I have owned the Cary's and the Wolcotts and believe I have had the best sound with the Manley's. As far as the kids go I would keep them out of harms way.
Does such a preamp exist?
Check out Manley labs. I believe this is what your looking for.
Peter Gabriel....Bad sounding CD's......groan.....
I also am a big fan of Gabriel and your right some of the recordings are awful. The first cut on "UP" will blow you out of your seat with brightness. The Lp's are much better. If you can find the older genesis albums( Selling England... or Foxtrot...
At what level does analog beat digital?
I will compare Audio aero capitole mkII with the Nottingham Hyperspace table /anna arm/benz ruby II. I listen to cd's a lot more because its easy and there is more new material than vinyl. That said the resolution and detail is still better with w...
