Digital, Low Mass, ClassD, Less expensive, Let it happen!
Interesting that KEF decided to use a class a/b amp for the tweeter section of the LS50W.... and a class d amp for the midbass driver which crosses over somewhere near 2khz give or take... would KEF use class d in a model with such a strong reputa...
Review on Tekton Design Perfect Set Speaker just went live on Six Moons.com
I think we all know from experience that positive reviews make it through the process and get published and products that the reviewers don’t like don’t get a review.  If the reviewer is positive about the product, they probably also end up liking...
How much do we at A'gon influence the industry?
In the "soon to be controlled by today's young people" world, there is a whole new job category called "INFLUENCER"...meaning that if you can get enough hits on your page or site, you can paid, and sometimes paid well for bringing eyeballs. One of ...
Lightning quick DYNAMIC amp in the under $1000 range
Agree that it would be very helpful to know a lot more detail...but generally speaking, you will get a lot more bank for the buck buying a preowned....there is almost always good stuff available as new stuff is coming out all the time that people ...
Is There a Speaker for Me/Impossible Requirements? (budget: $2000)
With the music you described... if your ultimate goal is top end air, detail and three dimensionality...put the Sierra 2 with the RAAL tweeter on your audition list.
What define "musicality" ? And what constitute "musicality" in audio ?
I think it also has to be recognized that for many, the joy is the search for musicality... the journey.... and maybe not the ultimate destination. For  those that have the money and time... the fun may be trying new equipment... achieving new sou...
What define "musicality" ? And what constitute "musicality" in audio ?
Three points:   First: In the words of Jeff Foxworthy…”You know might have a musical system if….” This is where things get hung up…..so…   Second : What defines musicality…is a lot like defining great pizza or great wine…it is in the eye, m...
Do posters intend to hurt the feelings of other members?

Will a subwoofer add depth and clarity to my system, or just bass?
@jazz99From my perspective, a well integrated sub can do four things for you1.  Enlarge the soundstage2.  Improve the sense of ambiance3.  Balance a loudspeaker/room that seems too bright4.  Add a feeling of impactIf you have reasonable flexibili...
Belles Statement LA-01 preamp experiences?
@ruraltom As you know, David Belles has a quiet reputation for making great sounding gear that lasts for a long time...and that resells pretty easily.  Right now, I see that there is an LA-01 on US Audiomart for $1700 and a  Belles 22a on Ebay f...
Whats the deal?
b_limo Ok....this may be a little bit out there....but....Audio does not have to be a one dimensional hobby (sound).  For many, it can be a multidimensional medium that provides value/enjoyment with both sound and art and where we can appreciate...
An encounter and lesson in speaker prices ...
@blindjim +1 on the bose comments...no doubt that 40 years ago, Bose became at the very least a household familiarity...and even today, every time you go into a Costco or Sams...over by the TVs...there is a Bose set up displayed....so, it is not a...
Great deal on some Salks . . .
Hmmmm if the Salk SS8 non Be is $9k per pair...and the SS10 is $12k per pair....then it would seem that these new speakers might actually be $5k...but $5k per speaker....but I'm pretty sure they will sound great!
Stereo pre-amps with dual outs for bi-amping and a subwoofer line out
And if you don’t prefer a Parasound preamp, look at their Halo poweramps that have a preamp (passthrough) output.
Spatial Audio M3 Tubo S open baffle speaker review
@falconquestNice write up...and I'm not surprised by your findings.  I've posted this a few times but I had the chance to hear the M3s in Salt Lake at Clayton's assembly shop...which does not have a good listening area set up...and they sounded gr...
