The room as a component
@falconquest Well, when I clicked on the Acoustic Fields website and the picture of their $1M sound studio job came up....I figured I didn't really need any more clicks to realize that they were out of my price range.Maybe to many this wouldn't ma...
I've Just Learned What Amplfier Bias Is...
@trayI suspect you meant amplifier bias is when you are predisposed to prefer a favorite brand of amplifiers??
2020 FLORIDA AUDIO EXPO WHICH ROOMS would YOU VISIT?
Actually....I think it was the CeLest I heard at the show priced at $4k...which does not have a subwoofer...and they sounded good and looked good...the switch to the Corvus system with the sub just made the sound bigger with a deeper low end...but...
Fyne Audio 302’s....anyone heard them or have them?
The 502s were at the Florida Audio Expo... former Tannoy guys...$2500... they sounded really good.
2020 FLORIDA AUDIO EXPO WHICH ROOMS would YOU VISIT?
Had a chance to listen to the Corvus towers for a few moments... smooth but detailed, nice low end, big soundstage.  +1 overall and a “bargain” by show standards.
Florida Audio Expo 2020 - What did you think?
as you will see here...there were also some spatial audio fans that liked the M3s and thought they sounded pretty good...Here was my comment posted on ASR...  "The Spatial Audios sounded good...but for the tracks I got to hear, I expected more l...

Subwoofer location/facing question
Assuming you did the sub crawl and actually like the sound you are getting....conventional wisdom is to try moving either the sub or the listening position a few inches at a time until you either find and improvement... or not and if not it is lik...
Speaker Sales on Audiogon
b_limolet us know how usps did... time, damage, etc. i pretty much try to stick with fed ex ground, insured, signature required.  Expensive but reliable.... and you can usually go to their rate tables and good a good estimate of the cost.
Could someone please estimate the realistic value of these?
I’d say that for these Salks that list for $3800 new plus shipping... you can ask 70% of retail but may have to accept 60% if you are in a hurry... audio circle has a lot of “Salk” fans but maybe fewer overall buyers than Audiogon. These are great...

Another vote for Salk....check these out...
Noise reduction -why the rage now ?
Noise Reduction - Why the Rage?I suspect that an an additional factor about the more recent 'buzz' (pun intended) around noise reduction is that ASR is shining a light on noise with their SINAID analysis (signal relative to noise+distortion) and t...

For the budget minded Audiogoners:https://sites.google.com/view/pine-tree-audio/powerhttps://reverb.com/brand/pinetree-audio?query=powerI own a pair of their custom made speaker cables and can only say great things about dealing with them and thei...
There's a lot more bass in a 6.5" driver than most of you think
As we all know, most of the bass we hear (tone, texture, definition) occurs between 50-200 hz...which is easily done by any decent 6" woofer in almost any size room....so, I completely agree with Eric as he isn't saying that 6 inchers are the best...
New Parasound Halo JC1+ monoblocks just released!!!
I find it a little bit strange that all of the PR is about the “technical improvements” and not about the sonic improvements... but I’m sure that within a couple of weeks as these $17k per pair gems make it to market we will hear more about the so...
