Raven v Walker. Colored v Accurate?
I don't think Halcro had any agenda regarding "the best",other than sincere enthusiasm for something(here the Copperhead)he is currently smitten with.Personally that is just fine with me,but I don't believe the intent was to persuade anyone to sel...
Raven v Walker. Colored v Accurate?
Halcro, sorry to bother you about this, but I wonder if as of this date(Thursday) you still prefer the Copperhead to the Davinci 12 incher.I find your thoughts fascinating(in the "best" way)and enlightening. When someone like yourself goes to this le...
Thoughts on "EL-Cheapo" LP flattener?
Dmgrant1,all you need to know,is already posted here. Best of luck.
Raven v Walker. Colored v Accurate?
Halcro, thanks for taking the time to write, and photograph such a great "read"! Best to you,and good luck with the fabulous set-up.
Thoughts on "EL-Cheapo" LP flattener?
Sorry if I was not clear. The SOTA Cosmos, and clamp/vacuum system is a fabulous and effective product.I absolutely love this table!!Actually a real giant killer,in sonics and performance!!..... However there are some lp's that rise above the "lip" ...
The best mini monitors you have heard?
My friend has the Magico Minis.Previously a wonderful pair(too big for room) of three way Kharmas.I have heard a load of superb mini monitors.Love the Dynaudio C-1's,and the Sonus Faber Guarneri Momentos.I do Think the C-1's are hands down, the bes...
Thoughts on "EL-Cheapo" LP flattener?
OK,I added a very thin layer of "self adhesive" aluminum foil liner, over the pliant layer of self adhesive cork. This holds the LP in place quite well, and does not stress the grooves at all. Result, after four days in the "El-Cheapo" LP press....a "...
Synergistic Research's Tricon Phono Cable
Is this cable available with a right angle connector, like my current Graham IC-70?...Also,anyone know the cost? Thanks.
Thoughts on "EL-Cheapo" LP flattener?
Raul, there do happen to be some lp's that cannot be flattened with "any" vacuum system. If a disc is too dished, the "lip" on the platter cannot grip the disc, for a good seal. Also, many collectible LP's are priced much lower,if somewhat dished. So ow...
Clement Perry's new reference speaker
Greg,you were/are a "mensch"!!How's the art coming? Best.
How effective is anti-static device for LP play?
I "think",based on an intuitive approach, that we ALL see dust on LP surfaces, but even without using a carbon fiber brush,it "sticks" to surfaces.Yet,blowing on the LP surface(even in good humidity)leaves the dust in place. So,I assume there is alwa...
Graham 2.2 Damping.
Yve,believe my intent when I state that you can live with the "vastly underrated 2.2",for a LONG time!!The arm IS that good!!I love my new Phantom, but there is just "something" about the 2.2 that I miss...Be happy!!! BTW,I do wish you could mentio...
Graham 2.2 Damping.
Barry,no I didn't think there were too many of the fairer sex into arm parameters :-) This business of arm cabling is more complex than simple perceived performances,in a given set-up,I suspect. The reason I say this(opinion only)is because I've r...
Graham 2.2 Damping.
Having owned, and loved the 2.2(which is probably the best deal on the used market, btw)it truly was adjustable to almost anyone's particular tastes, through careful voicings.More-so than my current Phantom, which I do like alot(big time). I was told,...
Graham 2.2 Damping.
Seems logical to me.
