Stereophile claims about Magico Dhaan,I don't quite follow your thought. Sorry.
Dynavector 17D3 w/Audio Research SP15 AEW,I own a highly modded SP-15(Great Northern Sound Mods),and have to tell you the gain is quite sufficient. It is actually "70",so even low output MC's will work.Btw,this is a superb pre/phono,and can stand up to some big hitters. Good luck
Stereophile claims about Magico Johnk, you kinda missed my point. I like the Magico philosophy, and products alot.I also like many other products. Because I trust my sensibilities, and need no reinforcement.I'm sure many others feel the same way.
Stereophile claims about Magico It amazes me how some folks are SO affected by lots of press, and exposure to something new,as well as forum "talk",like here.!...HOW much experience does one need(in years in the hobby,or good sense)to be able to feel secure with a buying decision...
Fidelity Research FR66 Hard to put a price on this.Say,competitive to other very good older designs. Unless the buyer "loves" Koetsus...those folks should know "this" arm works great with the heavier stone bodies.I knew some folks who ran Koetsus, and swore by these arms...
turntables for dartzeel phono preamp... Sota offers reconditioned tables at superb prices, for those not being able to swing a new one.Thought you might want to know this. Good luck
Furutech / Air Tight LP Flattener - do they work? Btw,Downunder.....all kidding aside,a fabulous piece of music to recommend to you(sorry about the thread hijack),since the composer is local to you.....is....John Antill's "Corroborree". Yes,it had been talked up in the old(great, but "no"-more)TAS...
Furutech / Air Tight LP Flattener - do they work? First off to Downunder("in jest")...."Wolfmother"??.....And you are a high end hobbyist??....No Ravel,George Crumb,John Zorn, maybe some Stravinsky?...Heck,why not some Ricky Lee Jones,or Joni Mitchell?...but Wolfmother??? Hmm!! -:) -:) As to the S...
Thanks to Raul. I "definitely" second the sentiment!!Raul may be way passionate, but the intentions are always in the best of spirits....As in "very good"!! AND he knows a thing or two about "music reproduction in the home"!!...btw,Raul..when you read this..... "R...
SOTA vacuum or no? Stingreen, that is exactly how my pal uses the ring clamp.Yet,unfortunately he droppd the stylus a bit to close to the gap,and "kerplop" went the cantilever! It does sound very good however, and anything can happen in vinyl replay anyway. Best
What do defective phono tubes sound like? Atmosphere,as always great input from you. Some day I'll introduce myself to you,at a trade show. The nice glass of wine will be on me. -:) Best
SOTA vacuum or no? As Larry said, the Basis IS a superb table. Not too cheap though, and worth the dough,if one has it.Yet,I'd bet the "newest" Cosmos IV is on the same playing field, meaning both tables will give one LP bliss! As to the "ring clamp" issue. My friend use...
What do defective phono tubes sound like? Atmosphere,I had noticed my pre giving me some noise,"now" when playing CD's Friday night. The vol control started sounding "whoosh/static like" sounding,as I moved the nob(even a little). Then,as I stopped CD play, and just moved the vol control to...
SOTA vacuum or no? It is actually the superior way a vacuum seal allows an LP to maintain "total constant/consistent pressure" at all points of the platter, that makes this the best way to clamp a disc! This way, there can be no minute seperation of lp with platter s...
SOTA vacuum or no? Definitely!Especially if you have a higher resolution set-up. Good luck |
