@mgmarcus  Good point. Gilbert at Blue Circle is a design genius and a powerful engineer. His FtTH2 hybrid integrated and his BC 022i integrated are superb.

Hey @xerotrace That Musical Fidelity IS an incredible amplifier. Also, Wally at Underwoodhifi (here on Audiogon) is an LSA dealer. (LSA stands for Living Sounds Audio; it used to sound for Larry Staples Audio - the guy who designed the amp). Some l...

I have to chime in with the LSA Statement. It's under your $8K range but it's a hybrid with a tube pre- and a dual mono SS output. Retailed originally for $11K and incredibly reviewed. No built in DAC or any other extraneous elements. Made my Magg...
Advice on speaker pairing with my Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum using KT120 output tubes.
Triangles also work well with good tube power.
Advice on speaker pairing with my Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum using KT120 output tubes.
I used to have Rogue Audio 180 magnum monoblocks with KT120s powering Maggie 3.6R's. One of the most complete sounds I've ever heard. I moved up to an ARC VS-110 which made the Maggies sing even better. So id recommend Maggie 3.7's. Or the Vanders...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
Please forgive a perhaps ignorant question, but would substituting a Lightspeed for my existing Jolida Tube DAC and using my Rotel 1072's existing B-B DAC to send a signal through the Lightspeed into my LSA Statement integrayed be a good idea?
Which Referance 3A Dulcets Be / MM Decapo Be or Episode Be
Tash recommends tubes. You should also get in touch with Audiogon member Rebbi. He's N expert on the 3A de Capos and has tons of amp experience with them.
Which Referance 3A Dulcets Be / MM Decapo Be or Episode Be
I had the de Capo BE's powered by an LSA Statement. Gobs of power and bass. The 3A's imaged beautifully; I had them about 40" from the back wall. I would use an SVS-SP 12 every now and then, but it was more for those extra symphonic/organ notes. I...
Recommend a Cable/Interconnect Set
Paul at Clear Day will sell you only what you need. His cables far outperform their price point and he's one of the most personable audio people I've talked with. Plus, he makes all his own stuff right in the Southwest.
Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components
Based on what's been written so far, I'd go with house-manufactured drivers and tweeters. Reference 3A Grand Veenas come to mind, as do Golden Ear Tritons. You might even be able to consider a Trenner and Friedl model.
Is it idiotic to stack an amp and tuner directly on top of a CD player?
You may be able to find a solution using Mapleshade products. They can work with you to figure out what would work best.
Remote control for a Rotel 1072 cd player
Thank you to all, especially to @tls49 .  Remote ordered. I love this forum!
Acoustic zen adagio jr for Rock music?
Robert Lee, I believe, designed the Adagio Jr.'s for exactly what they're advertised: classical, jazz, and other relatively softer dynamics. His Adagios are much more suited for rock, but they're floorstanders. Having said that, the AJr's CAN rock...
Etiquette for a listening session?
@jafant Vernacular (c. mid- '90's urban slang) contraction of "What's up?" Denoting a greeting among peers, indicating the speaker's upbringing, level of outdated pop-culture references, and comfort in addressing an online forum in an attempt to s...
Power amp for Reference 3A speakers?
I had those monitors for years powered by a simply gorgeous LSA Statement integrated (hybrid tube pre- and ss output). Loved them. You may want to ask @Rebbi for his advice. He had de Capos for years and tried a variety of amps with them.
