Preamp and IC to match McCormack DNA .5.
Consider the audible illuions line. A 2 series if you need a phono stage; an L1 if you don't. Plenty of information here at audiogon. I had a cj 10 mated w/ my .5 dlx and now have an ai 2d. Much prefer the ai (and it comes with a darn good phono s...
moving your LP collection
U-Haul's "small" box is perfect for moving lp's. And I second the above comments about not (if possible) stacking anything heavy on top of your boxed lps and keeping them vertical. Cleary mark your boxed lp's as such and remind your friends to tak...
cd player advice
Another cdp to consider at the nad pricepiont would be the line from Cambridge--either their new 640 or the older 500se. Excellent players for their price. I've a/b'd the 500se (which I used to own) with several nads (can't remember the model name...
Speakers For Rock
Under your budget, but you might like the PSB Stratus Gold speaker. It's attractive (for a box) and PSB has lots of dealers, so you should be able to personally audition a pair.
Does this DAC exist?
Reubent and Tfkaudio,Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I really like my audible illusions pre and would be hesitant to part with it, especially since I do most of my listening through its very good phono stage. That was an especially astute head...
Native American Music
Much thanks for all your helpful suggestions--just one of the many reasons I find this site so valuable.

Budrew and Rec--thanks much for your help.
Does this DAC exist?
Aroc, the msb link II had a set of analog inputs to which one could hook up a source. When the the dac wasn't operating, the analog signal would be passed through--very handy for connecting multiple sources to a single input.I'm just starting to e...
Rega P25 question
My p25 currently dangles a dynavector 10x5. A very nice combo imo. I previously had the top of the line Shure (which had diffferent strengths and weaknesses) and an old Rega Elys (great for the $$$ but no match against either the Shure or the Dyna...
LP storage? What do you use?
If you'll click on my systems link, you'll see my storage solution. It sounds similar to what Jea48 describes. My dad and I put it together over a weekend. Neither of us are cabinet makers, but with some forethought and a table saw, we didn't find...
PSB Image 4 T vs Monitor Audio Bronze B4
I had the 4t's for a couple of years. They were powered w/ a 50 wpc Camridge Audio A3i. I agree almost 100% w/ what phasecorrect had to say regarding their sonic strengths and weaknesses. They're a great all-around inexpensive speaker. I sold them...
Vandy 2 or 3 Sig. Vs. Thiel CS2.2 or CS3.6 or ??
I concur 100% w/ sdcampbell. Very different speakers. To over-simplify, vandy's have a warmer richer sound, with the thiels being tighter (in the bass) and more cyrstalline (in the treble). FWIW, I've been a very happy vandy 2ce owner for about 3 ...

I you're happy with your AQ's, why not just get more? Other inexpensive cables that I've tried and liked are Goertz and Signal Cable. No sub?
What budget preamp for my Monarchy SM70PRO amp?
I asked a similar question many moons ago. Here are the answers I got:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?aamps&1035561329&openusid&zzShersta&4&5#Sherstafwiw, my friend went with an old nad pre and couldn't be happier. Hope...
Phono stage and preamplifier opinions....
Another addition to the affordable preamps w/ good phone stages would be an audible illusions 2d. It's a tubed unit w/ a very good (MM/high output MC) phono stage. I like mine very much. They can be had for about 400$.
