Greatest Rock Drummers
@jafant+1 Stan LynchVery tasty drumming with a great groove. As a supporting vocalist he was fantastic too. It took TWO musicians to replace him - Steve Ferrone and Scott Thurston - both tremendously talented musicians themselves.
thread for PMC owners
Wow. I would have expected more responses. PMC three way design with their Volt 3 inch dome is very similar to ATC three ways. The Volt dome is a clone of the ATC mid range but with a less powerful motor and less useable bandwidth than ATC. The Vo...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@jea48 Yes clock jitter is inherent in cables. The discovery by Stereophile was perhaps surprising in its day but everyone understands it today. This is why you need good equipment that is totally immune to inherent clock jitter on ALL the cables ...
Digital Music sounds too bright?
Just be aware that most speakers radiate only forwards above about 300Hz. So what is between and behind speakers will be third or fourth reflection points in most cases. Side walls, ceiling and floor in front of speakers and between speakers and t...
Best wishes for Tom Petty
It is official he has died. RIP one of greatest story tellers and song writers of our time. His songs had such a healing effect, I don't know of any lyricist that I like better.
Digital Music sounds too bright?
For brightness it is much more important to cover surfaces that are first reflection points. If the TV is behind your speakers there is no big effect.
Best wishes for Tom Petty
RIP and my deepest condolences to Dana, Adria and Annakim.Seen Tom and the boys too many times to mention.
AES/EBU cable length; CD to DAC- 1.5 m or very short?
Jitter is inherent in any cable you use. It is not physically possible to eliminate all jitter in cabling. The key is findng the right equipment (DAC) that totally rejects all jitter. You can try 100’s of cables and many will sound different and s...

Wonderful visit and 5-star customer service at Audio Doctor in Jersey City, NJ!

Full MQA music list.
@willemj Interesting blog blog and test by Archimago. He has identified one of the causes of audible differences between DACs - the filtering methodology used. His test attempts to eliminate this by modelling this. If anyone is looking for an accu...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@uberwaltz All I am saying is that differences in cables can also be caused by equipment. You seem to agree.
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@uberwaktz @dlcockrum I did not say uberwaktz equipment was inferior. I just observed that it seems to be affected by the cabling in an adverse or positive manner? Are you saying it is not affected adversely by the one cable and improved upon by a...
