Magico S5 Speaker - SET UP ADVICE PLEASE - Tow-In - Etc. I looked at pics of your room. You should be fine in a similar spot as the previous speakers.
Lossless iTune music Sorry to burst your bubble. Bluetooth is not lossless! Moblie devices do not have enough memory for storing much in the way of lossless music.
Digital Music sounds too bright? @audioengr I thought balanced was supposed to be equal complimentary resistance to ground - so cancels out any spurious signals
Is using streaming services worthy of an audiophile? No concern with Tidal. My Roon software is set to play the files natively (no conversion) and my DAC reports the incoming bit and sample rate on the display. So I know I am streaming CD quality or better.
Benchmark AHB2 power amp impressions? @navrsale AHB2 Slew rate is 16V/uS and rise time at 3.5mS and a bandwidth of 200kHz.I can't understand why you think a 3 Mega Hz bandwidth is required in an audio amplifier. You seem to prefer higher distorting euphonic designs and there is nothin...
To Wilson Maxx I, I or IIII owners, or any Wilson speaker owners @handymann Yes the Dunlavvy IV had thick felt. There is no right or wrong - just experiment to see what works.
It's European invasion Good question. What happened to great American innovation? Edison. Steve Jobs. Nikolai Tesla. Ford. Bell. Oppenheimer.I think greed has taken over. Elon Musk is the modern great example of innovation NOT. Basically as fake as the comic book Tony S...
Psychological effects of volume control It is actually better that your preamp volume run between 11 o’clock and 3 o’clock. You should always adjust the power amp input sensitivity to allow the volume knob to work in this optimal range (preserve signal to noise by keeping the signal leve...
To Wilson Maxx I, I or IIII owners, or any Wilson speaker owners @handymann You got it. You can buy speaker felt from parts express for example. It will cost you very little to try and to experiment on where the felt best helps imaging. Here is a pic of some Dunlavvy speakers - this idea really works but is only...
Issues with AudiogoN forum website, anyone? Me too. Tons of issues on my iPad with Audiogon website until I upgraded my charger cable. Now I only charge my iPad with 99.99% pure oxygen free electrons. My advice is to upgrade your charger cable or your power supply. Once dirty electrons get i...
To Wilson Maxx I, I or IIII owners, or any Wilson speaker owners @handymann That is just an example and not my setup. Covering the front and sharp edges of the speaker baffle with some felt will make a big difference.
To Wilson Maxx I, I or IIII owners, or any Wilson speaker owners Here is a photo example using felthttp://tripp.com.au/gif/spk02.jpgIf you put the grills on over top of the felt you won’t even see the feltDunlavvy speakers had similar issues on the baffles and he used felt. It works great.
Digital Music sounds too bright? @audioengr +1 DittoSince the measured performance of my DAC with Toslink is absolutely perfect and I have very few really high res files, I have opted for galvanic isolation rather than use the higher sample rate USB input of my DACSo I have compl...
Switched from Yggdrasil to Gungnir Multibit. Oops - I am mistaken. The new ARC DAC 9 does not have high pro audio output levels like the DAC 8. I am puzzled why they changed this aspect of design. The DAC 8 has high output from the analog XLR.
LP's... Do they sound better now than 30 yrs ago? My double LP of Rastus sounds amazing and better than anything else because this Tower of Power style band was never re-issued apart from the original few LPs. |
