AES/EBU cable length; CD to DAC- 1.5 m or very short?
Jitter is inherent in any cable you use. It is not physically possible to eliminate all jitter in cabling. The key is findng the right equipment (DAC) that totally rejects all jitter. You can try 100’s of cables and many will sound different and s...

Of course - Danny Carey is amazing
Wonderful visit and 5-star customer service at Audio Doctor in Jersey City, NJ!
Excellent write up! This kind of service makes it worth buying from people like the Audio Doctor! The value from being able to thoroughlytest equipment is priceless.FYI I had an Anthem pre-DSP about 15 years ago. The AVM 20. I was extremely dissap...
Full MQA music list.
@willemj Interesting blog blog and test by Archimago. He has identified one of the causes of audible differences between DACs - the filtering methodology used. His test attempts to eliminate this by modelling this. If anyone is looking for an accu...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@uberwaltz All I am saying is that differences in cables can also be caused by equipment. You seem to agree.
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
@uberwaktz @dlcockrum I did not say uberwaktz equipment was inferior. I just observed that it seems to be affected by the cabling in an adverse or positive manner? Are you saying it is not affected adversely by the one cable and improved upon by a...

Test Equipment vs The Ear
@williewonka    Yes. This non linearlity as measured by Soundstage affects dynamic range directly. Acting as a limiter or compressor to the louder sounds. The Speaker will sound dull boomy and congested - nearly all speakers do at louder levels - ...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
Try to upgrade your gear next - a big difference says more about your components quality than the cable.
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
@greg22lz    Multiple driver designs are actually old school designs that have been tried and were not successful. Even Macintosh built a speaker just like Eric's. Bose tried this too.
what speakers to buy
@gdhal   If you were not so intent on pushing Triton you might have read this thread. Cycles2 is correct  - there is an earlier post with a link to a pair of used Focal Utopia that is within the OP's budget.
Test Equipment vs The Ear
@williewonka    I am surprised you are not aware of Soundstage linearity measurements on Speakers. These show how bad most speakers are. Severely lacking in dynamic range and audibly compressing at 90 DB in most cases.
Greatest Rock Drummers
+1 Stewart Copeland often plays on top or ahead of the beat and has a tendency to push the tempo. He gives an urgency and energy to his playing that few drummers convey. Good skill at the one drop as well as jazz (Murder by Numbers)! The Police Cer...
