Non-subjective speaker test at home
Sheffield Labs drum track. Turn it up to 110dB. Also rebuild or replace tweeters as the ferrofluid dries out after as little as two years. (ferrofluid drying out could be one of the reasons people report break-in of 600+ hours - common speaker des...
What makes tape sound better than vinyl ?
Those who like cassettes may like compression - a more punchy sound. Cassette will definitely compress good vinyl. Good vinyl can have as much as 70dB dynamic range on the outer edge. Cassettes never exceeded 50 dB.There is no need to feel ashamed...
My apologies_Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7's?

RE: Suggestions for Tidal Streaming problems caused by Internet Connection Problems
No issue wuth Tidal at all in six months of use but I use a Mac Mini. I would avoid streaming devices as these will all have much more limitations on processor speed and smaller buffers than a PC.
Do classical CDs made from early analog tapes sound better on your system than new CDs?
Inna,Are you OK? There are many transfers of what were originally analog recordings to digital that sound great. Tastes change with time and so do interpretations and performances as well as recording techniques. I am not surprised to see a prefer...
Soundstage and explosive dynamics?
@kosst_amojan There is another world out there beyond even high end home audio and you might be right to call it totally crazy but explosive it ishttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M2X6jisRSk8This studio was built only a few years ago and is similar in...
Soundstage and explosive dynamics?
@koost_amojan Your Focal 936 are excellent but 3 x 6.5 inch woofers with 1 inch voice coil and 4mm Vmax simply do not compare to a typical pro 15 inch woofer with 3 or 4 inch voice coil and 10 mm Vmax. In surface area alone, one 15 inch woofer is ...
Opening a can of worms
@nonoise You are very clever. Great rebuttal. I still haven't got an anwer why some folks prefer the sound of fuses and wires over the faithful reproduction of the source!
Let's talk power cords
@jl35 You may be right. I have never experienced a power issue or bad wiring. I have had a component that needed conditioning. Of course I got rid of the POS component as this is unacceptable cheap bad build quality.
Let's talk power cords
Power cords and conditioners can help if you have1) Inadequate power supplies in your components2) Poor quality power from your utility/ bad house wiring
Opening a can of worms
"Fuses and cable swap outs resulted in obvious changes in tone, timbre, ambiance and depth, or see through, as I call it. Even footers made a noticeable difference. I used to love Herbie's tenderfeet but with the Tonians, I had to take them out an...
Great music few are aware of. Any genre.
Cold Blood - really tight band and Lydia Pense is a great vocalist
Opening a can of worms
So audio is a special exception and all other electronic devices are different. Sure.
Opening a can of worms
So special wires and fuses are ONLY critical in audio sound quality? Nobody else has a need for special performance tuned $50 110 volt AC fuses. Nobody else has a need for better performance from $1000 wires to run 3 feet? Seriously, how could any...
Opening a can of worms
Agreed we are all different. Some brains are more wired to fanciful wishful thinking and some are more logical with a higher degree of rationality. Does this affect what we thinkwe hear - absolutely! If fuses or wires made a difference to equipment...
