AMPLIFIED MUSIC: AM I LIMITED TO SOLID S
We all know which one is easier to read, but one looks WAY more important than the other : ) Sean>

While i can understand Sluggo's take on the situation, look at it this way: If your "way of life" depended on modifying the latest products on the market, wouldn't you seek out a good source so as to stay on top of the situation in your particular...
Crossover questions
Hey Trelja, i know a guy with four mid woofers from a set of Coincident Eclipse's. I think that they are relatively efficient according to Coincident's ratings ( appr. 92 or so...), easy to drive, no fancy crossovers or notch filters required, etc...

Sorry for the secrecy folks, but I don't want to go into a lot of detail here for MANY reasons. Drop me an email if you are truly interested. To keep it brief, let's just say that Lorne's wishes aren't that far off. Only difference is that it will...
RCA Connections to Amp (Jumpers) ?
SORRY, CAN'T RESPOND. POST TOO HARD TO READ WITH ALL OF THOSE BIG LETTERS. DO YOU ALWAYS SHOUT WHEN TALKING?
SACD PLAYERS
I just got off the phone with Ric from EVS. There are TONS of upgrade mods available for ALL of these units. We discussed their design and how the circuit is set-up to a pretty good extent. After talking to him, i would wait just a few more months...
Carver LightStar Reference
I just spoke to Sunfire regarding some other matters and asked about this amp. The Lightstar was built by Carver Corp AFTER Bob had sold the company and started Sunfire. They basically worked off of his early design notes for the Sunfire amps that...
Info on B K ST202+
Try contacting Jerry in the technical department at B & K and ask for him SPECIFICALLY. He is very helpful and great to work with. He can give you a quick rundown on the amp, etc... with the inside knowledge of a company employee. He'll do thi...
what is "redbook"?
"redbook" CD's are "standard everyday CD's". This term is used to differentiate it from the "specialty" CD's like Super Audio CD's ( SACD ), CD-R / CD-RW's, Video CD's, etc... Due to having different formats, standards and technical aspects, it be...
Daisy-chain an amp or not
NO, NO, NO.... For all of the above reasons. Instead of your amp running through a 6 ft ( ??? ) power cord to the wall, it now has to go another 6 ft courtesy of the preamps' power cord and a low grade outlet on the back of the preamp. Besides the...
Carver LightStar Reference
While i have never heard this unit myself, it is supposedly an earlier and slightly better sounding version of the Sunfire 300. If you can get it for a "steal", i'm sure that it would not be something that would cause you any displeasure in the le...
Help for girlfriend HT speaker system???
Sheesh.... I thought that EVERY man new that women want BOSE !!!! After all, there is NO need for "big" speakers when Bose can give you all of the same sound in tiny little "cubes". Right ???? : ) Sean>PS... I wouldn't go crazy on speakers. Cha...
Need help - system performance
I agree with Abstract. Keeping the signal ( and the reactance ) from the ESL panel seperate from the signal ( and reactance ) from the woofers is probably MUCH better than trying to force one amplifier channel to deal with both. As such, i sincere...
A minor rant
There is one MAJOR point that you folks are missing. The more "tweaks" ( cones, bearings, pods, etc...) that someone puts under a component, the more it is coupled to the surface supporting it. As such, instead of having the surface area of one se...
Crossover questions
Joe, apply your "deader than a door nail" speaker cabinet theory to the horns / horn bodies on your dad's speakers. Keep in mind that some horns have some type of screen / mesh "diffusor" in the throat near the driver. If that is the case with tho...
