Power cords for Ayre
I think that Charles Hansen is a smart guy and a good designer. As such, he takes "real world" power conditions into consideration in his designs. I know this as he wrote a 5 part series of articles about RFI / EMI, AC noise, pole mounted transfor...
Help, moved and very unhappy the sound of the syst
If you can't get the amount of voltage and current that you need out of the wall to begin with, there isn't a device made that will give it to you. Sean>
Why are there so many unopened amps, ect for sale?
I have no idea why people would do such a thing, nor will i fathom a guess. Whether they are legit or not could only be found out by buying them and finding out. You can pay your money and take your chances...As to warranties being covered, Brysto...
Cables "Burn In"
Pbb, as i've mentioned before to others here, you are more than welcome to send me some cables to "burn" for you so long as you cover the shipping both ways. I don't mind doing favors, but i'm not footing the bill for your postage : ) Sean>
Do power cords really matter?
Will, if i get my act together here ( i'm working on it ), i'll soon be doing some testing that should be able to document the differences amongst power cords. Once i can do that, i should be able to come up with a design that is a more effective ...
Will hookig up only 2 channels on a 3 amp hurt the
You might have something defective in one channel that is "out of balance" with the other channel that it is being bridged with. As such, have you tried running all four of the channels individually ? You can do this one at a time, two at a time, ...

If people would stop thinking of power cords as an extension of the wall outlet and instead think of them as an extension of the power supply ( with the potential for various amounts of tuning / filtration / impedance alterations included ), this ...

newbie need help on decision on buying an amp
Two situations can arise out of your question. Either your source component and preamp don't have enough output to really drive the KR or the KR is too small of an amp for what you want to do with your system. If you've had the same sources and pr...

There is no problem with doing what you are doing in terms of leaving a channel "dead". Since i am not familiar with this amp ( have seen one but never used or read about them ), when you go into two channel mode, are you bridging the four channel...
Bose makes more than speakers...
John, the funny ( or is it sad ??? ) thing about the scenario that you brought up is that it is probably all true !!! Sean>
How to arrange my speakers?
WOW !!! I think i won the contest for "Longest Post on Audiogon of All Time" with this one !!! : ) Sean>
Opinions welcomed
Brian, as far as i know, the PD-S95 uses the same exact chassis as the PD-65 player. They even come with the same owners manual that covers both units. Never compared the two units side by side, but the build quality on the PD-65 is also pretty so...
At a crossroads...what's next
Ask yourself what you think is lacking in your system and why you feel the need to change or "upgrade" something ? If i thought that there was a weak link in your system, it would be the speakers. Sean>

Marty, your speakers are WAY too close together. You also have them the same distance from two boundaries ( 5 ft to rear wall, 5 ft to side walls ) and that is a no-no. Each distance from the speaker to a wall creates a specific resonance or node....
