analog newbie question/vinyl weight regarding steve hoffman's preferences for heavier vinyl, he has stated on his own website his dislike for 200g. and i don't know if the thickness of vinyl has anything to do with it, but there is enough complaints about the quality of classic's 20...
Ear 834P and Dynavector p-75 the reviewer basically was taken by it's transparency and it's no frills approach, not only physically but sonic wise. he was so taken by the performance of the phono enhancer that he indicated that he would be using the p-75 instead of his dynave...
Ear 834P and Dynavector p-75 for low output carts, which i believe yours is, the p-75 is amazing. i currently am running it with my scout/glider l2 combo with terrific results. if you would like to read up a bit more on it, check out this months hi-fi+ for a rave review.
Help me spend my $1500, interated or separate? i second the moon i-5 recommendation. i picked up a used one a couple of months ago right here for about $1500 and it's been amazing. beautiful warm, detailed sound with amazing imaging and plenty of punch. it retails at $2600 so you may have to h...
cart upgrade thanks for the feedback. koetsu was one i wasn't even considering, but i might now. i've also considered the 20x, but wonder if it would be much better than the glider. twl, im wondering why you don't think the 17d2 might not be a good match for t...
Vinyl playback is still a secret who cares if it ever becomes "cool" again to the mainstream. if people are too caught up in what's cool, they don't deserve the pleasure of vinyl. let them believe that the latest and greatest from the mall's ht store is what it's all about. maybe...
Which sub $1k phono stage to go? used a phonomena and grado ph-1. both have their positive qualities, but ultimately, no match for the p-75.
Which sub $1k phono stage to go? i'm using a glider l2 on a scout/jmw-9 combo, and for the last month or so have been blown away with the dynavector p-75. while it can accomodate any cart, it has advanced technology for it really shine with low output mc's. it's fairly new to the...
Help with a complete vinyl setup about $2,500 i absolutely agree, go with a record cleaning machine. i have had great success with my nitty gritty 1.0, but i am intrigued with the 16.5. one question i have about it. when i clean now, i scrub manually, and with the design of the nitty gritty, ...
Good Phono Pre-Amps...$500 to $1500 i haven't heard the graham slee but it sounds fantastic. but if a low output cart is to be used, a step up will be required, probably bringing the total package to over $1500. On the other hand, the dynavector p-75 will provide amazing results for...
VPI Scout couldn't put it better myself. got mine on friday and the difference in the performance(plus peace of mind knowing that im running dead on 33.33 speed) has not been subtle. it's not cheap, but i'd like to know of any better way to upgrade this table.
Starting Analog... the greatest thing in the world, but these guys(and girls?) are right. in november 02 started with a few records, a project 1.2, and a project phono box pre. now, less than 2 years later, i have a vpi scout/benz glider l2 table/cart, a dynavector ...
Losing sleep... ok i'll play...i have a scout, and over on the asylum is the latest thread re: why sds is so important to just about any vpi table. you can pick one up here for about $700, which im probably going to do as my next upgrade. speed accuracy and clean...
I was sitting here.... amen brother...the great thing about vinyl is that it is so easy to hear when something is just not clicking, and it's usually one of just a few factors which could be slightly out of whack. dial 'em back in and you'll know it in a hurry. and ther...
Graham Slee GSP Era Gold Mk. V - anyone have it??? it does take about 50 hours for reasonable breakin. but play with the settings, then switch it to "enhanced" for a real treat(assuming you have a low output mc). |
