Graham Slee GSP Era Gold Mk. V - anyone have it??? this sounds great for mm or hight output mc, but for low output mc, you need the most appropriate step up transformer which, according to the lpgear.com website, will run you an additional $1000. For those on this thread that might be looking for ...
VPI Scout re the vpi 16.5...very good, but expensive, big and loud. don't overlook the basic nitty gritty for between 200-300. they'll get the job done every bit as good, not as loudly, and with less space.
VPI Scout I'm using a Scout with a Glider L2 and it's amazing. I've had for almost 3 months and it's really opened up over the last few weeks. Be patient, because while it does sound great out of the box, it only is going to get better, which is part of the...
Turntable hum??? Help try disconnecting your ground wire altogether and see what happens...also, are you using shielded cables? if not, think about investing in a pair. might not fix the problem, but good for rfi, etc.
Musichall 2.1 or Project 1.2? project is supposedley better. i had it for a few months and was quite happy with it. just make sure to upgrade the cart asap, as the oyster it comes with is terrible.

Good Phono Pre-Amps...$500 to $1500 sounds like a fantastic phono...nonetheless, given the specific situation of whatjd, i'd still take the amp that will get you $1500 sound for $600, and either buy records, or even upgrade the cart, maybe with a dyn 20x-l for $525, or a dyn karat 1...
Good Phono Pre-Amps...$500 to $1500 i too have heard great things about the k&k, but it's hard for me to believe that it is worth nearly 3 times, with shipping, what the dynavector p-75 will get you. the incredible improvement on my system notwithstanding, this seems to be the g...
Good Phono Pre-Amps...$500 to $1500 do not buy anything without seriously considering the dynavector p-75. it hasn't been in this country very long, but you can get it now through music direct. $599. unbelievable giant killer, especialy if you're using a dynavector cart. read more a...
Venturing into Vinyl - Phono Stage Questions i too have basically enjoyed using the phonomena for the past year. if you have a mc cart, having the flexiblitly to change resistance settings is pretty cool. however, i always felt that at the end of the day, im still missing something with it, ...
The importance of azimuth with the vpi scout, azimuth is adjusted by rotating the counterweight. i visually inspect the cart, and also the counterweights by the pivot. things sound fine, centered, etc, but im wondering what more i might do to improve what admittedly at thi... |
