What is the Phono stage you have finished with? Lacee, Yes if the noise floor of your TT is higher than your phono stage then it may be a waste of money. But if you want to hear the differences that upgrading your TT make then having a quiet phono stage will tell you if you are going in the rig...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, I doubt that everyone will agree with your findings regarding DVD-A vs LP. I happen to prefer my Steely Dan and Donald Fagen LP's to their DVD-A counterparts. The LP's are more dimensional and more natural sounding to me in my system.
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Thanks Raul, It's interesting to read how people do their setup. I've got a good system down that works for me but I'm always willing to learn something new. Cheers.
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Raul, Since you have experience with more cartridges than most people, what SRA do you think is the best starting point for an unknown cart? Do you feel some carts are better at a different SRA than others? If so how big of a variance is there?
Ayre Phono P5xe settings low / Med / High ? Use whatever sounds best to you. It will depend on the gain structure of the rest of your system ultimately.
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Kiddman, Good points. The smaller the industry the more likely this will happen. We are the guinea pigs. What's even worse is when there is an obvious design flaw that the company ignores that is a cheap fix. I've seen people complaining about the...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Jeb, .060 variance in length is hardly something to worry about considering the headshell has slots to adjust the overhang. Wiring problems are not good though. The magnets are adjustable I assume. Those problems may have happened in shipping or s...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Retipping once a year is no big deal if your cartridge manufacture does it for a reasonable cost. Unfortunately most of these uber expensive carts cost at least half the retail price to be retipped by the original manufacture if they will do it at...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Thanks for the info Jonathan. It is disturbing that a reviewer has to go through 3 samples to get a good one. There may be no official standard for SRA but somewhere around 92 degrees has worked best for the carts and records that I own. Using ones...
Oppo streaming capabilities You need a video display to see and access the network on the OPPO. As far as I know there is no playlist feature so you have to play whatever is in the folder you are in at the time. That will be annoying to allot of people but I generally play w...
What is the Phono stage you have finished with? Allnic H3000. Sounds great in my system. It's a keeper.
Parallel? How do you set the VTA? Parallel is a good place to start but it's were you finish that counts. The angle that the stylus is mounted on the cantilever will determine where the VTA will end up. With the carts I have had somewhere around 92 deg SRA is best. Gluing styli to...
VPI Classic motor question Should be easy to change the motor. First unplug the power supply then remove the belt, platter, and arm wand. Then turn it on it's side and remove the metal plate under the motor. The wires are not soldered. They just use wire nuts. It should be ...
Aging and Treble and Income? A bright treble in most cases is really just distorted treble. If the system is capable of playing the treble clean then you can have a lively top end without fatigue.
Rebuilt Ortofon A90? It's actually $2,000 euro's which is about $2,600 us dollars. If you like the A90 why not? |
