Has anybody bought or heard a Chinese knock off amplifier? I've read about these clones of high-end brands from the likes of FM Acoustics etc. from China on another forum 2 or 3 years ago. Apparently someone bought the clones and compared them to the original. It was reported that there is a difference in...

Wow, $10k+ cables Well, I can’t comment on a $10,000 power cord or interconnect as I haven’t gone there yet (no plans in the near or distant future either). What I can tell you is you may not need to go there unless you have some "spare change" for your $800,000 sy...
cost no object integrated amps This thread is indeed special with all the big boys. I'm also well aware that people will recommend what they currently own particularly if it works for them. No surprise there and I'll do the same. For anyone who doesn't have the funds or do not ...
Arcam Integrated Amps Ditto above. I bought an Arcam Alpha 10 integrated in 1999 and it was just OK, nothing spectacular. No experience with the FMJ series. Naim, Exposure and Rega are usually better sounding if looking at British gear.
question for Luxman L-590AX owners No buzz with my L-590AXII. Something is wrong with the unit or the mains power supply if there's a buzzing sound from the amp.
Wireworld Silver Electra 7 vs Electra 7 I only have the Elektra 7 and do not have experience with the Silver Elektra 7. The Elektra 7 is quite good for the source or DAC but not good for the amplifier. When connected to the amp, the sound is soft and lacking punch and dynamics.
Bookshelf Speaker Stand Difference? Results will be dependent on the type and design of speakers. One size doesn't fit all although most speakers will benefit or sound great with conventional stands ie. Heavy, inert and comes with a top plate. For instance, Harbeth speakers sound be...
Upgrade Hegel H300 to Luxman 590AXii or else Similarly I have not heard the Hegel amps but have owned several integrateds at various price points in the past. The Luxman L-590AXII is the costliest integrated amp I currently own and it is a very good Class A at its price point. It is rather n...

Luxman L590AXii vs Accuphase E-650 for a Shindo lover Judging the book by its cover...lol! Thanks to @t_ramey for hooking me up with E-650. It ended my pursuit and opened the gateway to heavenly sound. A perfect match for my Tannoy Canterbury’s and rest of the upstream components.I am aware the Ac...
Luxman L590AXii vs Accuphase E-650 for a Shindo lover I’m with you on the Luxman/Harbeth thing. I never really cared for it. Perhaps too much warmth? Almost too polite in terms of presentation. I bought the Luxman L-590AXII last year and i agree with this. I own the Harbeth SHL5+ and find the Luxm...
ISO Pucks with Harbeth and Sklyan Stands Open frame stands sound best with the Harbeth.
PS Audio Stellar P3 Vs Audioquest Niagara 3000 It might be worthwhile to change the wall outlet to Furutech GTX-D (R) NCF before going with power conditioners. |
