Inside the Iso Acoustics mechanism It would be good if someone opens up the Gaias or Oreas and take few photos of the insides.
Inside the Iso Acoustics mechanism It’s all right here: elastomer, arranged to do what it does. There’s a sketch of the insides but no description of the stuff. I would be equally interested to know about the featured parts inside the Gaia and Orea. Are both the sam...
Gryphon Diablo 120, Luxman L-590AXII, Other? For KEF R11 Even the new (and limited edition) L-595 didn´t match the R11 as great as the L590AXII. Its a excellent amp (class A too, a little bit more smooth in the highs maybe, but in the lower parts I did like more the L-590AXII). It appears that you...
Gryphon Diablo 120, Luxman L-590AXII, Other? For KEF R11 I would like to squeak better bass performance from the KEFs and a warmer or lusher mid might be good with the otherwise very neutral MyTek. I don’t know about the Gryphon Diablo 120 but have the Luxman L-590AXII. Just like Fatdaddy2, the Lu...
Sabrina X Anyone Add Subwoofer(s) If going with REL, these are the recommendations for Wilson Sabrina on their Web page calculator. Small room : S/510 Medium room : S/812
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences... I bought a very big sub from them 15+ years ago for HT. I think it was the SVS PB12-NSD/2. I live in Ohio so i picked it up. I had it for a few years, it was hard to tune in, because of the two styro foam plugs. The driver developed a problem and...
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences... Maxboy00, thanks for the response which is appreciated. That's it. It would be the REL. A friend who is the hifi industry also advised that REL is a safer bet than the SVS. Similarly I wrote to REL support but my story was a little different. I ...
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences... It’s just my opinion, but if I wanted a subwoofer for HT only, I would select SVS over every subwoofer I’ve owned due to price versus performance. If price wasn’t a consideration and it was for HT only, I would purchase JL Audio. For 2-channel on...
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences... I replaced my JL Audio E-112 (2), with a pair of REL S/510, due integration issues. I was running my speakers full range with the subs working underneath, altho the subs sounded very good on some material I just could not eliminate some bass boom...
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please I appreciate all the useful advice and opinions. I’ll just keep this short and avoid being long-winded. I have been reading a lot. I understand all subs SVS, REL, Rythmik, Arendal etc. have their own pros and cons and fans, and it’s all good. It ...
Lose weight or buy better fitting pants You would design the speakers to fit the room, instead of fixing the room. It’s another way of saying get the appropriate speakers to fit the size of the room, which I agree. Generally, small speakers for small rooms, large speakers for larg...
Luxman 550AXii and 509X The SQ-N150 looks wonderful with high build quality, just like the other Luxman units. Good to know it is capable of driving inefficient speakers. Perhaps in small rooms it wouldn’t be too much of an issue. I believe most owners use high efficienc...
Luxman 550AXii and 509X Man9, I am aware that the 550AXII is compared to the 509X. I am bringing in the 590AXII to the mix to suggest that the 550AXII is likely more powerful than the official rated output of 20W since it is a Class A just like the 590AXII. I have the 59...
ATC SCM 7 V.3 and Auronthas, that is good to know. The ATCs are great speakers. There are few owners who use top-flight Naim amps with the speakers particularly SCM19. The Accuphase E280 and SCM11 look like an interesting combination. Enjoy~
Luxman 550AXii and 509X The numbers for Class A Luxman are conservative. For the L-590AXII rated at 30W(8 ohms) / 60W(4 ohms), the real output on test bench was revealed to be 95W(8 ohms) / 165W(4 ohms). The numbers between the 550AXII and 590AXII won’t vary much. Link ... |
