ss amps with variable input sensitivity Not many amps have volume controls anymore and with good reason. The volume control affects the sound probably more than any other device in your system. A bad one makes bad sound. And having an amp and preamp both with them can make for a bad com...
What are some great tonearm cables for SME IV.Vi The ones that came with it.
Anyone tried a copy protected CD? Seems like they have already standardized to low quality releases why not low quality sound?
Aren't passive radiators out of phase? Passive radiators have to be out of phase but drivers can be wired to make them in phase to compensate for the crossover.
CD-R's suddenly "unreadable". Seems like Maxell does cause more problems than most CDR's.The Imation discs seem to work well and are cheap at about .30 each. I also like the Fugi's.
technical explanation for cable direction? True Viridian but my statement says that the shield should be connected at both ends. If not, the cable is more likely to pick up RF.
A New or Repaired faceplate for Marnatz 7 A good start would be http://www.classic-audio.com
CD-R's suddenly "unreadable". It's very easy to clean the laser with a cleaning disc or remove the cover and clean it with a QTip. Then try the other fixes if it doesn't help.
Does Anyone design PC's for Plasma Monitors? You can get some PC monitor cables with RF blockers on them. I beleive they just use ferite.
CD-R's suddenly "unreadable". You should probably clean the laser. The pits are not as deep on CDR's and therefore are harder to read. My Sony is not supposed to play CDRW's but it does but it occasionally has to be cleaned in order for it to read them.
Does Anyone design PC's for Plasma Monitors? What kind of noise? All Plasma monitors have fans that are rather noisy.
Dust Covers Use the Tork-909 car polishing pads. You will have to get them at an automotive paint store. You can get the wet-or-dry sandpaper and polish at the same time.
Where can I buy a Panasonic TU-HDS20? What about the Sony?
consensus on passive preamps? Of course it's really not a preamp if it is passive.
Why do crossovers do more harm than good??? In my experience, most electronic crossovers add grain and distortion to the mids and highs. If your satelites have their own low frequency protection or can play at reasonablyhigh sound levels, then you should only use the crossover on the sub fo... |
