I miss my Loudness Button and Tone Controls.... I’m using a very efficient speaker (Zu Audio DW’s). This is your issue, I’m sorry to tell you. The Sphinx plays fabulously at very low volumes with my Triangle Antals. No need for any tone controls or a loudness button.
Class A or Tube (or else?) for high pass (bi amp) of Infinity Quantum 2 BTW, do you understand the crossover design? Not sure but I think it does more than just split the frequencies. I think the levels of each tweeter are different but I could be wrong.
Class A or Tube (or else?) for high pass (bi amp) of Infinity Quantum 2 It wasn’t the woofer that sucked all the power from the amp. You don’t want to under-feed the other drivers, good way to blow the tweeters. Not sure what happens when you bypass the factory crossover probably will make it a bit more efficient.
Any song recommendations for testing purposes? Songs to test a system? Play something you like to listen to.
Klipsch Forte IV ... what amp ? Actually the Forte's were for another system with a Primaluna Dialogue Premium So, how does it sound?
Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile Component of its kind extends to the dollar sign icon you mentioned. Yes, price is part of the definition. The least musical compromise for the $. Stereophile is very precise about explaining their process but nowhere do they mention that pri...
Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile You need to understand what class A means. It means for the money. Nowhere in the description for recommended components does Stereophile say classes are cost dependent. You guys are making this up. Stereophile says: Class A Best attainable s...
Pro-Ject CD Box DS3 "Redbook" Player Thanks for posting. Waiting for reviews on how it sounds.
Tweaks, money pit or real value? Minor tweaks are just what they are, minor. Over the years I have found that I do better if I just concentrate on a simple system without too many add-ons. YMMV.
Dynaudio Evoke 20 dynamics(snare) and a wide sweet spot. When you say that I don't think of bookshelf loudspeakers. How about RP8000F Klipsch. Not much to look at and you won't want to match it with bright SS amps but you'll get plenty of good sound to fill a la...
Klipsch Forte IV ... what amp ? Just about any amp will work with those. However it would help if we knew how big your room is and how loud do you want to play. And when you say amp do you mean a separate power amp using a preamp to drive it? If an integrated amp serves your ne...
Schiit Aegis and Goldenear References compatibility. I have trouble recommending 20 watt amps to people that don't know if 20 watts is enough. It can lead to disappointment.
Buying used vs new speakers from a technology perspective I think there's certainly some improvements in speaker design associated with electronics, material science and modeling/simulation tools that has resulted in improved performance. Plus one.
Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile It would be unrealistic to say a pair of KEF LS50 meta can compete with a pair of Wilson Sabrinas, for example. Exactly. There is class A then there is class A. I do think that if you could get a good match with your system you could be knockin...
CD player The Cambridge AXC35 at only 350 bucks would be a great match to your ML 35XTI folded tweeter. A really nice sounding unit. |
