Rogue Audio. Reliability issues? Anyone?
@nickrobotron   Tube systems are for the hobbyists that like to be more involved with their music system. They are not for everybody. I like rolling tubes, checking bias, and keeping my systems running in top form. I have spare gear if one piece o...
I found audio nirvana....
An audiophile is like a wine connoisseur. Audiophiles are trained listeners with high standards. On the other hand some people can't stand wine and have no clue what the fuss is all about. No shame, somebody is buying all that cheap beer.
Was I Expecting Too Much
Tire kickers are a PIA. A busy store could be serving non-buyers all day long, it's a waste of time. The dealer was telling you how it is. Go see him when you are ready to buy. Otherwise he is making no money. I'm also not sure how you compare the...
Class A Integrated amps
Stay two channel and look at quality integrated amps. I’d pick a Rogue Sphinx V3 for your speakers choices. P.S. I don't think any of the receivers you listed are class a.
What to try?
I like yogiboy's suggestion.
How To Keep Cat Off Stereo Equipment?
Cover your gear with towels.
4 ohm. > 89 db.
Is your question; "Are there other loudspeakers out there"?  Yes, there are.
I found audio nirvana....
I had a Logitech with subwoofer on my desk for years. It was better than a table radio but a long way from a very modest system based on KEF LS-50s.
Giving in to my weaknesses
Frankly I spend 80% of my time in my “B” 2.1 system at $5000. Absolutely this!

How am I supposed to just replace one tube and throw out all that paid-for attention to detail? I guess maybe the answer is to pony up more money for ANOTHER matched quad. Feels like a very, very expensive endeavor that makes the tube game silly....
Giving in to my weaknesses
I'm in the same boat and I have downsized to an integrated amp. I only did this after a severe hearing loss.

It sounds like a bad tube took out some other stuff. It happens. Running tubes takes more work and money than solid state. You'll have to decide if it's worth it but $175, bad tube replacement, and shipping doesn't sound that bad to me.
connecting subwoofer to parasound via loop output on A21+ / A23+ ?
It sounds like it is summed to me but there is very little bass information that is panned on just one channel. Try it and see.
Is it possible for a high end manufacturer to overprice their goods?
@hilde45  Thanks for the well reasoned response.

Someone is buying a $133k speaker while someone else is living in a cardboard box. And some are eating fillet mignon and others are eating a hot dog. So what does that have to do with the topic?
