| Speakers sound too bright. You said your KEF were too analytical/metallic. The KEF concentric driver is not metallic sounding, just the opposite. It's extended but not harsh at all. So, will will never like the ML ribbons. Send them back and get something more mellow. | |

| Tubes and less sensitive speakers I'm very familiar with Maggie 3.6s. I would not recommend a tube amp for these. Although some of the bigger powerhouses sound good but with lots of heat and heft. Your Hegel is probably a decent amp. I would add a tube pre-amp, a good one. | |
| To which song(s) did you blow your speakers? I never blew a speaker but I have popped some fuses. ELP "Tank" will do the trick. Many more modern records will also work. Edit: It's been decades since I tried to bust things, but you go through that phase at first. | |

| Why do tube amps often subjectively sound more powerful than SS ? I’m not really sure why that is. But my tube amps have huge power supplies and oversized capacitors. That doesn’t hurt. | |

| Why did you purchase the equipment you have and what do you like most about it? Lots of gear over the years. I finally decided that I would buy gear that pleases me but may not follow the idea of accurate sound. My system is flawed but it's flawed in the most pleasing way. I could not be happier. |
