Fluctuations of the loudness of speakers???
Sounds to me like it is something other than your speakers. Check your amp/preamp.
What is the best band ever?
Hard to Say. My choices - Squeeze, Roxy Music, Alice in Chains.
Most expensive
The most expensive that I can think of are the Kharma Grand Enigma. I believe that there is only one pair, and they were installed in an underground room (large domed ceiling) somewhere in Europe. The price was quoted as 1 million dollars. I think...
Hi End rack really deliver?
I second thre Adona reccomendation.Besides the good science behind them, the prices are very reasonable compared to the competition - and they look good.
Too excited not to share - TRL Dude tubed preamp
How did you even find out about it? I just went on their website, and it's the same as it has been for a long time. They still don't have any info on the 225 amps let alone the Dude.
what should i keep, shindo or mcintosh
Why would you ask that question when you can listen to both of them in your system and decide for yourself which one you prefer?
Levinson vs. McIntosh vs. Lexicon or ?
I believe from my own experirence that Mac amps (with autoformers) mate well with most speakers. They are also smooth and powerful sounding, and each of those speakers that you mention are high resolution designs that could sound bright with the wr...
McIntosh MC207 or MC402 w/MC205??
There is a definate difference in Macs with and without autoformers. The amps with autoformers sound fuller and smoother with more weight- better!
Klipsch RF7 upgrade / modification
Look up Sonic Craft on the net. call them and ask for Jeff, their tech. They carry all the best parts at very good prices, and he will tell you what to do - no BS.
Pass, Mac, or Anthem
I have owned Pass X250.5 and several Macs, the most recent an MC300. I would say go for the Mac. They are full, and natural sounding. I felt that the Pass was somewhat grainy and electronic sounding.
budget component in high-end system?
I would have to say the Morrison Elad Preamp. I have gone through several amps and speakers in the last 6 years, but I am still impressed with it's lack of identifiable "sound". Having said that, I would still give it up for a McIntosh C200.
What If?
I love the Khorns, but for something that is different, has particular strengths of it's own, and would work very well with your tubes, I would recommend Silverline sr17.5.
Used Speaker Recommendations Under $5k...
Agree with the Coincident Total Eclipse. Easy to drive and sounds great. Partial eclipse is great as well.
which components to buy?
Am I the only one who has no idea of what you are talking about? You neeed to start by naming brands.
SET amp for high efficiency horn speaker
deHavilland Aries 845 is a good one.
