Sanders magtech or odyssey kismet @bdp24- @bdp24- Here’s an item of interest, if you can stand the fan noise or have a closet for isolation: (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HAFLER-Pro-500-Power-Amplifier-Two-Channel-225-watts-per-channel-25062/17217...) I used a DH500 for bottom end, 20+...
Sanders magtech or odyssey kismet @bdp24- I’m not crazy about typing, so I’ll try to keep this brief. Never having owned Tympanis, I’ve nothing concrete to offer there. I’m powering two SEAS L26ROY D1001s for bottom(X @ 250Hz/10th order), so the only commonality is a 4 Ohm/ch load...
Sanders magtech or odyssey kismet @bdp24- Much of the venue ambiance info in your recording resides in in the lower few octaves. Use a Crown amp and you'll lose it. I've been using a slightly modded TransNova 9505, to drive my transmission line woofers, with excellent results...
I admit it, I get skin orgasms. BTW: bdp24 re: SPLs- EXACTLY!!!!
I admit it, I get skin orgasms. I've always thought of them as, "eargasms".
Why are so many companies like harbeth making old speakers designs and charging thousends? ".... the only diffinceses as upgraded silver wire and upgraded crossover components. To a thousand dollar woofer that is machined not stamped and has so much magnetic flux that it ca lift a car and no crossover?"(I made no corrections, just cop...
Sanders magtech or odyssey kismet You’re at no risk to try the Odyssey amps, as they have a, "no questions asked, 30 day return policy", same as Sanders. (http://www.odysseyaudio.com/sales-usa.html)
sound wave speed and other ways they behave/react. Regarding, " sound wave speed and other ways they behave/react". If you want to focus on that aspect alone, copy/paste (Sabine reverberation) in your search bar and you'll get a plethora of helps. ie: (http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-RT6...
sound wave speed and other ways they behave/react. I agree with ohlala: (http://www.amazon.com/Master-Handbook-Acoustics-Sixth-Everest/dp/0071841040/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&q...) Mine is the first edition, purchased in 1981. I'm probably due for an update.
Bass traps - too many choices!! Another vote for Auralex LENRD Bass Traps. They do a great job of breaking up the reinforcements that occured in the corners of my room. eBay lists a version that is much cheaper and I see no reason that they wouldn't work as well. Note the c...
aes / ebu digital cable choices I do know what I heard and that's what I passed on, as requested by the OP.
Removing faceplate from Hafler 9300 There may be double-sided adhesive strips holding the same joints as the bolts you removed(between the heat sinks and the faceplate's flange).
aes / ebu digital cable choices I owned two Kimber Orchids, some years back. The .5M was unlistenable, I suppose because of digital reflection. The 1.5M was wonderful. If I ever need another AES/EBU, I'll be looking for another 1.5M Orchid.
Stylus cleaner About 36 years using Stylast and either their small brush, or the brush that Dynavector provides, prior to each listening session. Then, I use the brush after each LP side.
If a gear is dirt cheap, do you think it is no good? Lots of folks are thrilled with their iPhone/earbud audio. Long as your system floats YOUR boat, what's there for me to think about? |
