Chemically Altered Audio
Here’s something, that could potentially aid some, in their understanding/appreciation of other system improvements:   https://medium.com/writing-in-the-media/according-to-research-cheese-can-cure-hearing-loss-4f32e602dc51       Now: if there we...
Any speaker refoaming in central illinois????
Not in Michigan, but- can't recommend more highly, as regards repair, parts, or(perhaps): guidance.       http://www.millersound.net/contact-bill-legall-millersound.html
Axe to grind know it alls
Responses to such only encourage.        However(sometimes); it’s(hopefully) beneficial, to present logical(or- contrary, theoretical/scientific) points of view, for more rational thread followers.     There are those, that are here to learn and e...
Interesting conundrum
Beside the above mentioned variables: there are a plethora of EL34/6CA7, 6SL7 or 6SN7, 300B, 845 or 211 tubes out there, that will also make major differences, in presentation.      Running A or A-2?      Bias settings?      Feedback level?      T...
System start-up noise
Perhaps I should have mentioned(regarding that last sentence): still following the standard, source-through-power-amp, turn on sequence.      And- I’d be disposed toward cleaning the tube pins & sockets, first(as advised).       Should that ha...
System start-up noise
Some tube equipment companies’, "Standby" practices, keep the gear at half voltage and zero B+.      That avoids thermal shock, at turn on.      Sonic Frontiers doesn’t mention the half voltage thing.      Still; keeping the filaments energized, i...
Life is too short to buy someone else's favorite stereo gear
Tough crowd!
Would you donate a dollar to have these Members Review a Product?
@erik_squires: Kudos! A very well reasoned position.

But for one exception; I’d sooner pay to have Julian Hirsch resurrected!
Resistors
Some trolls remind me of really poor, Carbon-comp resistors.
If Caveman Had Stereo
Some would be compelled to argue, that ALL Conch Shells MUST sound alike.
Resistors
Experience matters, as does aural acuity. Sadly; the lack of either or both, rears it’s ugly head, quite often(and so obviously), in these threads.
Selling locally/Value questions
List them in this site’s CLASSIFIED section, as an auction(NOT in the Forums).      "Local pick up only", if need be: https://www.audiogon.com/new_listing/type      I really enjoyed my CAL digital pieces(Sigma II, then Alpha and Delta), back in th...
Power Cable from wall to my conditioner?
You didn’t mention your budget, but: Synergistic Research offers a variety of PCs, over a wide price range.     I own a couple and have been very happy camper.     The Cable Company has a lending library, the rental costs of which, will be applied...
Looking for some Hafler XL-600 Amp service/repair references
btw: If your speaker fuses are still good: you might try swapping the amps, between channels, before opening up the suspect. It’s possible that the problem is upstream. ie: No signal on that channel. Also: DC at the input, would keep the XL-600’s ...
