What is wrong with audiophiles?
What’s wrong with audiophiles?    Interesting: you mentioned, "concrete examples".    The typical naysayer’s mind, is a excellent example of perfect, impenetrable, concrete.    ie: Thoroughly mixed up and permanently set!
Phono Preamp Tube Rush
@dhcod- You mentioned having tried new tubes.     Were they graded for low noise?    You probably already know, but, just in case- some tube vendors grade their tubes.    Some don’t.   ie(check what’s said, regarding, "Platinum Grade" and, "Kevin’...

The science of opinion ...
“At the scale of a group, repeated local influences among group members may give rise to complex patterns of opinion dynamics such as consensus formation, polarization, or fragmentation [8]–[11]. For example, it has been shown that people sharing ...

@duckworp- " What always amazes me is the question as to what motivates these people? Why do so many people want to spend their short life telling people that they are buying snake oil and telling them to do double blind tests and repeating this a...
What is your favorite budget audio component?
Tough crowd!
Are there any current high end dipole speakers (dynamic)?
If you can: audition Spatial Audio and/or Emerald Physics systems.    You won’t regret it!    http://www.spatialaudio.us/products and https://www.emeraldphysics.com/categories/panel-speakers    No connection, outside of being a very happy, EP owner.
Placette RCV Passive Pre between pre and power amplifiers?
btw:  Think about the extra interconnect pair(s, depending on configuration), if you leave the ARC pre, in the system.   More connections and wires, never seem to help one's presentation.
Placette RCV Passive Pre between pre and power amplifiers?
What George said, +1.    I had a Placette Passive Linestage and loved the transparency, over the ARC SP9 and SP14, that came before, though neither did anything, "wrong".    The only problem I had, with the passive, related to the inefficiency of ...

Not that I’m a fan of Klipsch, but- they may have a valid opinion on the subject, given they’ve been in the game for a while: https://www.klipsch.com/blog/how-to-break-in-a-speaker#targetText=After%20about%20100%20hours%20of,while%20others%20can%2...

Nothing but ASSumptions and excuses.   No comprehension    Pathetic, yet laughable!
Interconnect Directionality
Typical of robertcon’s knee-jerks and hubris, to fail to comprehend/totally miss the point of my post(beside adding to Geoff’s list of modern history’s highly debatable subject matter).    I’ll bet robertcon never got past the date of the article....
I'm having a really hard time with: "Power cable reduced my soundstage"...
robertcon-    "Remember that all magic is an illusion."     Prove it!     OH, wait; you can’t categorically prove that statement, because all you have are theories and opinions(well, then there’s your blinding hubris).
