Increase efficiency with high-pass filters?
And if so, approx. how much? At least 3db?
How to fix a lack of bass Null
I had a serious bass null at 55-65Hz and experimented with two GIK 244 panels, moving them around in different configurations near the sub until I was able to significantly reduce the null (from -10db to only -2db). Placement ended up being two pa...
Ann Arbor, Michigan Blues Music & Record Stores
Don't know if it still exists, but the Blind Pig was a great place to catch live acts. Also the Michigna Theatre. And if you are ever hungry and enjoy food you'll not want to miss Zingerman's Deli. It is a must see/eat.
Looking for power amp with warm, smooth sound
Lefty - I meant Daedalus Audio, not Adaleus. Sorry.
Looking for power amp with warm, smooth sound
Lefty - OK. Nevermind then. I had some suggestions of dealers to visit if you were in southeast. You might want to check out Audiokinesis or Adaleus, both out west, though not in Seattle. Their speakers and amp suggestions are far from bright.

Lefty - Where are you located (zip)?
It's Hammond B3 Organ Day
Other than Jimmy Smith I really dig these two: "Live at Club Mozambique", Lonnie Smith; and "Zim Zam Zoom: Acid Blues on B-3", Ron Levy.
ProAc D Two and an amp to live with forever
BTW - I have NO experience with either the Leben or ProAcs. I was just making an observation.
ProAc D Two and an amp to live with forever
Beware though, if you go with Leben CS600, it only puts out 32wpc. This may be plenty for you. But if your room is large and/or you listen to loud levels this might not be powerful enough with those speakers (88.5db; 8 ohms nominal).
Vandersteen 2WQ vs Martin Logan Depth
Since you've asked for more suggestions ... I've not heard the 2WQs but have heard the ML Depth when I was evaluating subs for my 2-channel music system. I found the ACI Titan XL more musically satisfying than the ML (or others I heard including R...
Anyone ever tried 2x100Watt Bi-Amp Vs 200 Watt
I believe I misunderstood your question. For some reason I thought you were asking about vertical bi-amping - 100w for mid/HF drivers and 100w for LF drivers, not horizontal bi-amping - one amp per speaker. So please disregard my initial post.
What's your latest "Discovery"
REVORGANDRUM - Rev. Horton Heat on guitar and a few vocals (mostly instrumentals) accompanied by Hammond-B and drums. No bass so a different kind of sound. Fun retro kind of music. Better recorded and less intense than Rev.'s usual work. Highly re...
Anyone ever tried 2x100Watt Bi-Amp Vs 200 Watt
Bi-amping 2x100 watt can effectively be more powerful than 1x200 watts. LF and mid/HF driver simultaneously have such vastly different needs while playing. This does not gurantee a better sound, that depends on your speakers and the amp. But in ge...
Questions about Preamp Tubes
I've had my Mapletree Audio 2A/SE for > 2 years and no tube issues yet. It is by far the cheapest piece in my system at only $675, but the sound is glorious IMO. If you rank gear by price I guess it is "lower-end", though certainly not by sound.
need pre amp suggestion
Gsxr750ccs - Many factory preamps have too much gain. Its best to be able to set your volume control at half-turn for the volume you normally listen. Mid-way is generally the most linear position. Also, yuo'll have more volume selection when the g...
