Springs under turntable
@mijostyn - oh yes, you're absolutely correct. And you should totally ignore anything I say unless I can produce a peer reviewed paper on the subject. You should also ignore isolation devices and stick to your guns. Cheerio old chap.
Springs under turntable
If the speakers are correctly isolated, suspended, then the larger transients that produce energy storage in the cabinets, aught to deform the isolation device through a broad frequency range.Correctly implemented the high frequencies aught to cle...

+1 indranilsen - Solid-tech & Townshend were pioneers, and are now being copied, probably cheap Chinese knock offs.Next level is AMG toppers, or similar technology TMD dampers for the cabinets, in conjunction with isolation for speakers. My ne...

Speakers suggestion help
I understand people are passionate about audio, and I myself have offended users in here, it was not my intention. So I will state as jjss49 asks, I was an employee of a well respected loudspeaker manufacturer in Australia (almost completely unkn...
Replacing driver screws with brass screws
glupson, I personally have no experience with the specifics of that which you’re asking. Perhaps if your real intent is to discover these answers for yourself, which anyone trying to answer would most certainly be speculating. With perhaps the exc...
Replacing driver screws with brass screws
@cd318 My previous speakers used both wood screws and a soft brace behind the magnet for stability. That’s got nothing to do with glupson’s screws made of wood idea, right? And yeah the idea of having a flexible gasket and mounting the driver from ...

No "Room Correction" Topic option. Why?
@Chorus - You have 240VAC into your room right?  If you don’t mind, how many conductors are there (in conduit?) and what color are the insulation of the conductors please?I have been following acoustic fields lately. So much good information comin...

I don't know who Peter is, and I would not suggest you change your screws, beacause you don't want to.However I will attest that is it my personal experience that they do change the overall sound (despite differing opinions as to why), and the fac...
Can hardware change speaker phasing over time??
@ stroud27612 perhaps let's work through a troubleshooting procedure?Your Denon receiver, is that your volume attenuation to your A21 amplifier?Have you tried using another source? Like a CD player with it's own DAC for example?Try switching to a...

Cast copper is used in both sets of speakers in my system page, in fact the paint on my smaller pair was matched to the copper screws!
My pet peeve: "revealing" speakers
@tk21 - At any rate, I'd expect a "revealing" system to make subtle details audible at normal listening levels, in addition to having a nearly flat frequency response, with little blurring/smearing due to phase and timing issues. So, instruments...
Replacing driver screws with brass screws
glupson, sorry to spoil your fun, but after previous comments you’ve made, I don’t for one second think you’re serious about wooden screws. But by heck if you are serious, go ahead, I’ll read your review.I still remember my primary school teacher w...
