Thinking about a new, lower end CD Player
Why?  For 500.00 or less you can buy a Bluesound Node 2 or 2i plus a Tidal subscription and have instant access to millions of CD’s.  Once you use it, you will quickly lose interest in a CD player.
Amps under $5500 new or used
There’s a VAC phi200 currently listed for 3900.00.  Excellent products from a first class company.
Advice Needed: Bluesound Node vs Vault
I own both the Vault 2 and the new Node 2i.  I purchased the Vault for my new summer home.  For me, the choice was simplicity.  I don’t own a computer nor have the space or any other need for one.  The Vault offered a compact user friendly solutio...
Bluesound Vault 2i vs. Meridian Media Core 200 for first music server
Backup is easy.  There is a function in the BluOS app for that.  Just connect an external hard drive and press the button in the app.  I recall the backup took around 6-7 hours.Bluesound will rip to wav or flac.  I went with flac.  Couldn’t say on...
Bluesound Vault 2i vs. Meridian Media Core 200 for first music server
I have approximately 700 CD’s loaded to my Vault 2 and never noticed any appreciable difference in loading time between the first and last.  My guesstimate is around 10 minutes per CD.  Of course, put your favorites in first.Tidal is fantastic.  I...
Bluesound Vault 2i vs. Meridian Media Core 200 for first music server
I wouldn’t even consider a clunky old dinosaur like the Meridian.  Just look at the size difference and appearance.  Bluesound is the way to go.  I have the Vault 2 in my modest summer home system.  It functions flawlessly and sounds great.  The B...
VAC Sigma Preamplifier Front Meter / Thoughts / MC Cartridge
If you make the switch to a low output MC be prepared for a 50-60 hour break-in for the step up transformer if that input has not been used before.  My experience as a VAC owner.
Thoughts on wireless subwoofer.
Have you considered just running a set of cables from your speakers to the sub/subs?  Your speaker terminals allow for both spades and bananas so connection will be really simple.  Of course the sub/subs must allow for speaker level input.
Integrated Amp Recommendation
Can you see the volume control with the lid removed?  If so, I would be inclined to give it a good shot of contact cleaner through any visible gaps in the control.  Might be a cheap fix.For a new integrated, my recommendation is a Wired 4 Sound ST...
The "how many reviews it got" rule
TAS had a preview of the XTAC and photos in the September 2018 issue.  Interesting concept.
How to connect a subwoofer into a mono block system
acuaticdoc, I had the B3 model.  Just a single sub.  I couldn’t make it do what I wanted to hear.  I wanted to hear the “kick” in the kick drum.  I wasn’t looking for a heavy gravitas sound, with the room being so called pressured.  This type of s...
How to connect a subwoofer into a mono block system
No love for REL subs from me.  Had one, sold it.
How to connect a subwoofer into a mono block system
I should add the connections I suggested, would assume running the Proacs full range with the sub filling in the bottom.  This preserves the signal purity to the Proacs. If you wanted to limit the low frequency to the Proacs, you would need to run ...
Hardware Streamers
I have used the Vault 2 all summer.  The stored CD’s sound like I remember them.  I have a Tidal subscription which has worked flawlessly.  I have zero complaints about the sound of the internal dac.  The Bluesound easily beats the Oppo 105D for s...
How to connect a subwoofer into a mono block system
Photos of your M3B show two sets of outputs.  So you could run line level (rca) cables to the sub or subs.Alternatively, you could run speaker level from your amps to the sub.  The amp outputs look like they accept both spade and banana connectors...
