Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments Temper 'v' is in the house, arrived today! Took me about two hours to set-up and dial in. Already listened and the first thing that I noticed is LOW groove noise. This is one one quiet in the groove transducer. The next thing that is readily appar...
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments My V will be delivered on Tuesday. I plan to start with VTA alignment by ignoring the body and taper of the armtube. Concentrating on the angle the stylus is at when VTF is at 1.9gm. I have the ability to infinitely adujust VTA with my set-up. Fro...
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments From what I understand, the "V" has gone thru (3) versions. Output levels of .25mv, .34mv and .38mv. The Profundo website was last updated under the specs section to indicate the .34mv version. The newest "w", I was told puts out close to .6mv.
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments Sirspeedy, can you confirm that the most recent batches of "v" does indeed have the same advances as the "W". Thanks for the tip, not unusual for a MC to be configured with the arm down at the rear.Nsgarch, I'm in the process of upgrading my syste...
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments Thanks, I'll respond at length after I set it up. FYI, the new version of the V has the same "technological changes" as the W. That is what the USA distributor told me.
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments I'm expecting delivery of the new Temper V at .38mv/3.54cm anyday now. All the points you mention above clicked with me. Although, Im much more comfortable with the lower output of the V.
TRL Marantz Sa-14 UVA, the DV-50 was probably the worst sounding 2ch cd player I ever owned. By default, the Marantz 14 would most certainly have to "sound" better. It is my opinion these days, that there does not exist a stock player at or below approx the 8k pric...
TRL Marantz Sa-14 I sold a 6 week old SA-11 because it was WEAK in the bass and was wanting for more dynamics. The highs also seared my ear off. So, it doesn't surprise me that the 14 would sound the same.
TRL Sony 2000es or RAM Toshiba 3960 The SA11 is more than just "a bit more" than the Sony. And I can't imagine that the two, after mods- would sound anything alike.
TRL Sony 2000es or RAM Toshiba 3960 I had a stock SA11 and it was a big ZERO in my system. Ironic though that I also placed an order for a TRL SA11. Why?? Because of my conversation with Paul. I let Paul speak first about what needs to be improved. Every thing he mentioned that the ...
TRL 595-how good is it? TRL is now also offering mods to several Marantz models. Worth looking into as yet another option in the modified digital category.
Is SACD a dead format? It may be dead in light of the lack of new titles being released. But if you have built up a decent library, sacd surely can live in your home.
TRL Sony 2000es or RAM Toshiba 3960 TRL is also modifying Marantz.
Trans Temp W, Magic Diamond cartridges - comments I would also like to hear about the new Temp W and what phonostage works well. Raul recently posted that the bass was near perfect and the presentation was neutral.
Dreadnaught a Bit Bright? Tvad- Are you saying the Synergistic X2 cables lean to the dark side. I have these cables and IMO they will not hide brightness. What they do is lower distortion in the highs and bring out fullness/harmonics. |
