Top 5 Hamburgers
I'll acknowledge Unsound's complaints about 5 Guys, but I still think that they're among the better ones you can get around here in NJ. Another pretty good one down the Shore, as we say here, which has char broiled burgers, is the Windmill chain, ...
Top 5 Hamburgers
Surprised no one has mentioned the Big Kahuna burger (from Pulp Fiction). :^)

Byegolly, my son took my wife and I to the House of Pies when we visited him about a year and a half ago, about as close to a Jersey diner experience as you can get out there, I guess. Good pies too!
Oppo 83
I don't know much about these multi channel receivers, but isn't Toslink a digital interface? If that's the case, you would not be taking advantage of the Oppo's internal DAC, as you'd just take the Oppo's digital signal and use the B&K's DAC....

Five Guys, here in NJ (a good chain on the East Coast)Miller Burgers (Miller's Bar) in Dearborn, Mich. (I don't know why, but a plain Wonder Bread roll and a burger fried on a greasy grill, but they taste great!)
Krell amp with Zu Essence speaker
With reference to Tpreaves's post, a problem you could have is that you won't be able to move your preamp's volume knob very far before you have earth-shaking volumes. I don't know what preamp you use, but many that use standard attentuators sound...
Best Dac for Jadis Defy and JPL combo?
I've always preferred the sound of Telefunkens in my Jadis equipment, which have included JPL, JP80 and JP200 preamps, as well as the JA80 amps. EIs, Amperex and Seimens were also good to my ears. Telefunkens to me sound more uniform in tonal bala...
Best Dac for Jadis Defy and JPL combo?
I run a Nova Physics Memory Player through the EMM Labs DAC, closest I come to computer files (the player is really a computer, pretty much). Don't have a normal computer setup near the audio system.
How are the Classical music XRCDs?
I have a good number of the RCA Living Stereo reissues on XRCD. While I agree with the above posters that they seem to sound better than the conventional CDs of the same material, even the RCA remasterings (I would call them fuller, more analog-li...
Adcom GFA-565 Slight Thump
I don't know if it is normal, but the Adcom 555s that I got for my son years ago both exhibited the same behavior. Didn't seem to hurt the speakers.
Best Dac for Jadis Defy and JPL combo?
I used an Audio Logic 2400 DAC with my JPL, and use that and an EMM Labs DCC2SE with my current Jadis preamp (JP200), enjoy them all very much. If you were to get an early Jadis JS1 DAC it would be similar (same designer). One thing you should cons...
Phono Inputs...what can I use them for?
I think Viridian's and Stan's suggestions are good. To explain what Elizabeth and I were saying, generally a phono stage is used to accept a very low level, comparatively weak, signal from a phono cartridge and amplify that signal. Thus , there is...
Phono Inputs...what can I use them for?
I would also say no for the same reasons, but would more forcefully say that the RIAA equalization COMPLETELY screws up the sound. You should not use them for anything other than a turntable. You could consider getting back into vinyl, you know!
Adcom 585 Be Mono?
The 585, unlike the 555, does not seem to have a bridging capability to be used as a monoblock. You might want to contact Adcom about hether it could be done.
Why aren't all CD players also DAC's?
Quite a few CDPs these days have digital inputs so that you can use the DAC portion of the player separately. Wadia had made this available for quite a while; looking quickly at a couple of websites, I see that Cambridge Audio has it on their top ...
