Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
A lot of good suggestions.  Not knowing your musical and listening preferences or your associated equipment, I'd suggest Vandersteens as a general suggestion (Quattros or perhaps even a used Model 5A), and one no one has mentioned are Nola speaker...
In-ceiling: Am I wasting my money?
thecarpathian:  I'm surprised he hasn't yet.  He'd probably suggest removing the roof above the ceiling to create the prefect infinite baffle.
MoFi - Are You Kidding Me?
It's a special limited "fingerprint" edition.  You're lucky to have it!
Cover Songs that are better than the Original
Projections was a great album.  Nice call, Al!
Please suggest a few really good classical recordings
Having been listening to them recently, I will add that the Reference Recordings SACDs of the Pittsburgh Symphony are very good, both musically and sonically, at least on the SACD layer.  I was particularly impressed by their new Shostakovich 5th ...
What Possessed Me to Do This?
Remember, you were younger and stronger when you bought the heavy stuff.  Fortunately you have your son and his friends to help now, and for the mere price of a dinner!
Please suggest a few really good classical recordings
Agree with Newbee; his suggestions are good ones as well.  For the Firebird, that Dorati recording is about as good as I have heard of the piece.  the SACD is good; you can save some money on the vinyl by looking for the Classic Records reissue (m...
Evaluating Classical Music Albums
Forgot to mention, if you still like hard copy magazines, BBC Music is a good read, with reviews of new CD releases each month that focus on performance as well as sonics; as you hear some of the CDs reviewed, you will get an idea of which reviewe...
Evaluating Classical Music Albums
I agree with mahler123--after playing with them the past week, Idagio and Primephonics are a great way to sample recordings for good performances as well as sonics.  I also admit to being influenced to a large degree by the record label when I loo...

Linda Ronstadt--Desperado
Idagio and Primephonic
I will let you know.  Right now in the trial period I like them both, Primephonic for the large catalog and hi-rez capability and Idagio for their exclusive recordings from the VPO and other orchestras.  Both are easy to use and very helpful when ...
Idagio and Primephonic
Thanks for your input.  I may try both for a while--Idagio has some nice exclusives (with the VPO, for example) that may make it worthwhile.  Both seem like excellent sites, from the limited time I have had with them.
Best Tubes for VAC
I think you probably have the best 6SN7 tubes for your Phi 200, given your sonic preferences (I like a slightly richer sound, so I use NOS RCAs, but Andy Bouwman of Vintage Tube Services, who sold me the RCAs, recommended the Sylvanias if I wanted...
Any success with an indoor FM antenna?
Exactly right, cleeds.  In my case, it's an HOA regulation. As it worked out, I'm happy to have found internet radio, there are so many stations to choose from and the quality is much better than I expected.
Monoblock power amps same dedicated outlet?
I agree with georgehifi and the advice from Michael Fremer in the video from millercarbon, the amps should be on the same ground plane to avoid a ground loop hum.  Speaking from experience here.
