Your "Best of..." audio manufacturer in each state
NJ--VPINH--Basis AudioFL-VACTo the OP--I did visit VAC's place in Sarasota earlier this year.  It is a warehouse full of parts, old and new units, and a lot of really sharp and nice people, not at all what I expected but impressive nonetheless.  C...
Anyone with tinnitus or hearing loss who is into "high-end" audio?
I have tinnitus and have also lost a significant amount of hearing in my left ear over the past year.  I find that I am focused less on soundstaging these days than I used to be, but still can focus on timbre, correct frequency response and musica...
Lamm pre amp
If you want tube rectification you could go for a Jadis JP 80 or 200 (both of which I have owned in the past), but I do not believe they have a remote.  .
Lamm pre amp
Having heard both in my old system, I think that another possibility would be a VAC Renaissance preamp, which does have a remote.  The Lamm is a superb product; so is the VAC.
What can I expect to hear from a decent analog FM Tuner?
The main complaint I'd have on FM vs. streaming is that, on classical music, FM will compress the signal on the most dynamic parts.  Pop music is usually compressed to begin with, so it's not as big a problem with that genre.  But one nice thing a...
RIP Art Dudley
Very sad news indeed.  I found that as I got older I gravitated more and more to his views on audio reproduction.  I will miss his writing.  RIP, Mr. Dudley.
Nola Viper 1a
I haven't heard the Viper line for many years, but I recall it has a much more open sound than the Boxers, mainly because it is an open baffle design.  Could play quite loud as well, and a nice balanced sound, maybe lacking the last octave of bass...
Your favorite Mahler recordings on vinyl
Agree with the Solti No. 2 and the Klemperer No. 4.  That Klemperer is a favorite of mine. You can get both of them as reissues these days, I believe (mine are reissues).
How do you sort your LPs?
By genre, first, but in the classical category I just finished sorting by the labels.  Within the labels I have a good idea of the artists, composers and pieces.  I guess I'm thinking of selling down the road as I'm getting older and wanted to see...
Sandbox Design Advice
The only thing I'd add my voice to is using a wooden plinth, not granite.  I used to have a pair of Bright Star bases under my Jadis monoblocks, which worked well.  I would suggest making sure that any sand you put in the box is thoroughly dry.
Can wall sockets abroad have voltage that speakers can't handle?
Are you talking about powered speakers, or passive ones that you drive with an amp/receiver?  The latter should work fine, hooked up to an amp but the former might require an adapter and  a check on local voltages, as noted above.
Cover Songs that are better than the Original
Agree with you on People Get Ready; might not be better than the original (at least the vocal side, not a big fan of Stewart's voice), but the guitar work by Beck is superb.
Where to Connect a Phono Preamplifier into a Line Stage
Having looked at the OP's system, from what I can see on the manufacturer's (Odyssey) website there does not appear to be any distinction made among the analog inputs, so, unless the owner's manual has any suggestions, I'd think in this case that ...
Where to Connect a Phono Preamplifier into a Line Stage
Also, some preamps (such as the Jadis JPL and JPS2) have an additional tube in the CD input circuit to soften the sound of CD players.  Not needed or desirable for phono playback.
GNEDBY RIP
A bit more expensive, I believe, but I have three Wood Shed dowel units (they make other types as well) that are nicely made, look similar to the units you mention and have served me well.  Come in many sizes.  Got mine from Wayfair almost 7 years...
