Krell HTS 7.1 vs. Showcase
Audiojan: With all the other excellent equipment that you have put together, it would seem a shame not to get the HTS7.1. Eat noodles for awhile, you'll be glad you did. Food only lasts in your system for a day or so. The pre/pro is forever (at le...
Krell HTS 7.1 vs. Showcase
Audiojan: Thanks, yes, it sounds great (to me). I agree with Dbld that Krell makes an excellent product. Further, I have had good experiences with the service department. Perhaps a bit slow but the results are there. FWIW, I chose Krell all around...

Dave_b: Thanks for the input. I will look at your recommendations.
what concerts do you wish you attended?

After a lot of research I am leaning towards the Audio Art Power 1 PC. they have good specs and come with Furutech ends. They are in the $165 range on an introductory price offer.., Thoughts or comments?
Best rock song of all times
Did you see that Bob Dylan just got a Pulitzer Prize for being the most influential rock n' roller of our times. First time ever that rock n' roll got a prize. His books titled "Chronicles" are considered one of the rare celebrity books that can b...

Hot Legs - Rod Stewart
PC: Synergistic Tesla, Lessloss, Transparent MM
How about the Audio Art Power 1 PCs - introductory price is $165 and I think I saw one for sale on Audiogon for $105. I have a hard time believing that a $500 (or more) PC is that much better! OK, maybe I'm just not willing to spend that kind of m...
Krell HTS 7.1 vs. Showcase
I use the HTS7.1 with three krell amps (fpb 350Ms for the two fronts) and a Krell KSA 150 stereo amp to drive the sub and center. The HTS7.1 has worked really well and provides a lot of adjustment options, etc. It had to go in to Krell once (the l...
can I get some opinions - bass on magnepan mg20.1
Unquestionably, if you were to bi-amp as Peter_s is doing you would get great results. I read not to long ago that if you are bi-amping with unmatched amps (different watt outputs) you should put the highest wattage amp on the mid and tweeter side...
can I get some opinions - bass on magnepan mg20.1
I bought mine used also and had to make several adjustments. First I went into my pre/pro and reset the bass so that the crossovers were sending more bass to the maggies and less to the subwoofer. Second, I got the interconnects and speaker cables...
Power cord upgrades for Krell amps
Joeybovni: Thanks for the tip - I will follow-up on that as I did with the other suggestions. Yours sound more affordable!
Power cord upgrades for Krell amps
Ckoffend: That's what I thought - mine are not captive so I could follow-up on some of the above suggestions - if I had that kind of discretionary income to spend on a PC! Geez, some of those things are 2K. It's still hard to believe that you woul...
Power cord upgrades for Krell amps
I always thought that "captive PC" mean't that you could not remove the cord from the amp without major surgery. My PCs unplug from the amps so I am thinking that they are NOT captive. Perhaps the configuration of the plug is to be considered??
Power cord upgrades for Krell amps
Ckoffend: I have always been of the same mindset as you on the matter but I am interested in the opinions of other folks that have upgraded. I hope more will respond.
