Squeezebox Classic - Do you like it?
The Boulder Cable 5 volt regulated power supply is a recommended upgrade to the SB 3, also, taking it one step further, Red Wine Audio produces a battery power supply that reviewers seem to like. Additionally, there is 6.2 Firmware for the SB3 (I'...
Squeezebox Classic - Do you like it?
It's sure obvious from your comments that wireless is effective and a good way to remove those long cable runs. Most of you are hooked to name-brand DACs and that too is a key to quality reproduction. I would be going directly into the Krell HTS 7...
Long Coaxial audio run?
Mb9061 Couldn't you go wireless with Squeezebox or something similar and eliminate the cable issue?
Legal & Ethical Questions in the PC Audio Age
OK, so some of you have taken the high road and never, never copied a CD. If the worst crime humanity ever committed was copying a CD, what a wonderful world this would be.
used vs "Giant Killer"
With the exception of the pre/pro all the equipment in my system is high-end used stuff. I couldn't be happier with their performance AND the amount of money saved by passing over the new "giant-killer" products. Earlier during the infant stages o...

Amp for Maggies
I have had great results using a pair of fpb 350 Monos from Krell. I use a separate Krell KSA 150 to run the center and sub but the sub doesn't get much work since the 20.1 Maggies don't crossover to the sub until 40 db. Given that the Krells pump...
Re-ripping music collection to new iMac
Tubejack: Sounds like you are using a PC. I will be using a Mac and have been advised that EAC is not available on Mac but haven't checked that out personally. I do use EAC now for ripping into the old PC (WAV) and am happy with the way it perform...
Re-ripping music collection to new iMac
Thanks for the input so far. It is sounding to me like it would be a waste of time to re-rip. The new iMac and Cavalry 2TB HD unit are both on the way so I'll follow the advice and just load it up - try out a couple of re-rips and compare. The CDs...
Re-ripping music collection to new iMac
Yes, I think I can transfer the files to iTunes without a problem but I'm wondering if I would get better quality sound if I dragged out the back-up CDs themselves and "re-ripped" them using EAC. Nearly all of my music library now stored in the PC...
Suggestions for a good 3 channel amp
My thanks to each of you. You made me do some homework. Taking the advice of Kr4 I looked for 2 channel only in junction with my "standby powered sub" that is currently collecting dust in the closet. In the end I have decided to go with the Krell ...
Copy CD with EAC?
I just click on "Action" at the top of the screen and select "Test and Copy" - uncompressed. Seems to work fine.
Usher CP-63XX owners, have you added Lead Shot?
that's a great thought Emilg1955 - Thank you - it didn't occur to me.
Usher CP-63XX owners, have you added Lead Shot?
Interesting thread! I am considering the purchase of 200lbs of #8 lead shot in 25lb bags to use as ballast for the back of my Myesound Stands on the Maggies. The thought was to keep them in the bags and lay them in a custom made box to fit on the ...
