| What amp should be used with merlin vsm's? Atmasphere, Joule, and Berning for OTLs - they all work well (very) with the Merlins. CAT JL2s for P/P (good reports on VAC). Ayre and BEL for solid state. Ars Sonum or Manley for an integrated. | |

| CAT SL-1 vs. FS Presence Deluxe & SET/hi-eff spk I think the CD Taper version is essential with CD Sources. I could never get the lower setting right with the standard CAT settings of 26db gain. Aside from that, the pre is quiet and one of the very best available. | |
