Slagle AVC Modules & Lightspeed Attenuator
George, it just might be possible the Lightspeed Attenuator is the best preamplifier I have had in my system (and I have had many passives and even more actives). I need to do some more comparisons, but I'm not sure that trumpet, bass, drums, and ...
With $20,000 in your hand, what speaker would you
OP, has this helped? :)
What amp / int. amp would you still like to try?
I would like to try a Jadis DA30 or 60 integrated. Not that I expect it to sound as good as my OTLs, but I just always loved the way they look, and those that own them seem to love them. Have to agree on the VAC Phi Beta, only heard it once with t...

Not yet. Just with the MR RM10 and 9 so far.
I need some amplifier help
Could be better dynamics, depends on the tube amp. But if it is true that the B&W need current (low, and variable impedance)they may very well need an SS amp to sound their best.

George, there is always theory and practice, and theory seems to be worth very little compared to how something actually sounds in the real world. Your Lightspeed Attenuator, is extremely good by almost all the "audiophile" criteria, but it just p...

Will do. Also, my CD player can go up to 3.7v output at the flip of a switch, so I don't think gain will be a problem with the M60s.

Anthony, got the LS LDR, I can see why you love it. It, with a Music Reference RM10 is what I would recommend to anyone starting out looking to spend $2000 or so for a preamp/amp combo, in fact it is what I would recommend to someone wanting a gre...
The Harbeth phenomenon
EL34, what is the difference between the HL5 an the 30s? Why choose one over the other? Type of music? Tyoe of amplification?
Atma Sphere deserves praise
Jtimothya makes a good point about the need to stay in business, we do want out great designers to stay in business. It does seem to me that there are some pretty good examples of "successful" companies with stable products, with evolutionary and ...
Atma Sphere deserves praise
I agree with Jtimothya that point-to-point does allow for a much easier upgrade policy, just much easier to make "alterations" to a basic design. I also agree that ARC certainly takes care of the owner of a unit that choose to keep - the annoyance...
The Harbeth phenomenon
True, never cross a Maggie owner:)
Atma Sphere deserves praise
Mmike84, I dod see what you are saying about ARC, and it can be quite annoying to own a MKii when a MKiii comes out, but when they can, they have provided an upgrade option (not always possible), but in spite of that, they do make good sounding eq...
The Harbeth phenomenon
I think you'll find Merlin VSM owners wax equally lyrical:)
Atma Sphere deserves praise
I like the looks, especially the amps, they look like they are going to sound good:)
